For this semester, we did several assignments on this course, the first one I would like to mention is the team strategic plan. When we had a meeting to talk about our project, each team member has been participle, it’s good to see we got collaborative climate (Alder 2013) for the whole time, it makes each team meeting be useful. During each team meeting, we used task-oriented listening (Alder 2013) style. According to our textbook “Task –oriented Listening is most interested in get job done, and it is helping keep functioning efficiently.” Also, the style of our meeting is problem- solving meeting (Alder 2013), if there have any question or misunderstanding about the project, team member feels free to speak out, and then we could spend some time to solve it. For example, we used to not sure about the format of team strategic plan project, during that meeting, a team member mentioned this problem, then we double- check the requirement to figure this problem. When we used this two methods, it made our work more efficiently. On my group, most of my team members are more effective people, which is competent team members (Alder 2013). Since they know English is not my first language, they all willing to help me when we had some question about the project, it’s like some people good at certain area to help those people weak at this area, so it makes me enjoy with them. Some of time, I may not easy to join their conversation. But when one of them realize that, he asked what’s my opinion for the work, it’s been thankful that he trying to bring me to their conversation.

Moreover, this course assisted me in learning how to create a team charter in which it has showed me my strength and weakness. A Team Charter helps “team members recognize their complementary skills, their common purpose, common goals, and mutual accountability” (Byrd & Luthy, 2010, p. 14). It made me understand how to be prepared for any arising conflicts and how to manage it. ”Conflict management works best when the parties involved in a disagreement are equipped to managing it themselves” (Weiss & Hughes, 2005). I also learnt the importance of feedback and feed forward. "Feedforward helps people envision and focus on a positive future, not a failed past" (Goldsmith, 2002). How it puts the employees in a check list in order to spot where they are wrong and perform better. “Effective feedback helps the coachee see the gap between intended performance and actual performance" (Payne, V. 2007). The requirements needed to excel and improve in their workforce. ”Employees can provide useful input on the effective of procedures
Strategic Planning is one of the most fundamental factors in the success of an organization. When doing so the other group members were active listener, by using their whole body verbally and nonverbal. Like facing the speaker and giving eye contact and try to avoided interruption. The group also acknowledges the thoughts of the speaker by giving constructive feed back. Due to the effectiveness of the group communication, we were able to build trust, respect and understand the issues and make decision for effective change. We illustrate this by coming together as a group one again to accomplish the goal we initially wanted to accomplish. Since the first organization that we had chosen was incorrect, so we had to make the necessary changes to accomplish our goals. The other effective feature is the purpose of the group. Kozier et al (2010) stated that the effective group purpose is when “goal, task, and outcomes are clarified. Understanding and modified so that members of the group can commit themselves to purposes through cooperation” (p.401). For instance, each individual was assign a task and knew what was to be accomplished. As group we all decided to meet at suitable day and time which was beneficial to all team members, because we could commit to the group and focus on what needed to be achieved.
