While most other people listen to music they often use the phrases “ This song is my life.,” “This song perfectly describes ME.” Unfortunately, I am unable to use any of those phrases. I have always had a hard time finding one song that perfectly fit all the distant corners of my personality, or the situations I have had to endure. I have had to settle with finding songs that could fit in the playlist called my life. My life has been one of the most intense rides ever to be ridden in history. Music has helped me during the times I confronted my biological father about all of my feelings. It has helped me learn how to not dwell on feeling guilty for expressing how I actually feel. Music has taught me to embrace my insecurities, and it has guided me in discovering what I want to do with my career. Finally, music has helped me love myself for what I truly am and nothing that I am not. Music is a powerful force that cannot only influence other people’s attitude, but it also can contribute to their actions. Other people find serenity in art, jogging, or even MMA fighting, but music is my therapy. The one song that has made a huge impact on my playlist would have to be Praying, by Kesha. In her music video, she starts with a monologue that hit me on a personal level that has been something that I live by during my everyday life. It goes, “ Am I dead or is this one of those dreams that seems like it goes on forever. If I am alive; Why? If there is a god or whatever,
Music. When I started in the band in 8th grade at Saints Francis and Clare, I didn’t really want to be there. It was just another class, in another day, of my last year of school. This began to change after I realized all of the amazing people I met in the band. Band led me to be happier and become friends with people who I never even knew I would meet. It has even lead me to a path that I would like to go into in the future. I love music and band so much that it has made me want to teach it or join a band as I go into college and just for the rest of my life. Through music I have even had the opportunity to meet some very amazing people, and I have been able to work next to some of those people.
Music is a great thing that is a special part of everyone’s life. No one can go a single day without hearing some type of music and not fall in love with it. Music gives people that inspiration that they need, mentally and physically. It also takes on this role, where it gives many answers for people. Some songs even help people who are struggling with finding themselves.
Music has always played an important role in my life. Even as a student of film, I tell stories inspired by song lyrics, for the words, rhythms, and instruments of rock music have impacted my life to an unimaginable extent. Whenever I edit video, the underscore is vital. When I write a script, there 's a poetic sound, a lyricism to the dialogue. I would not even be here in Los Angeles if not for artists such as Courtney Love and Jared Leto, who cross boundaries between music and film. In particular, Jared Leto 's career is something to behold. An award-winning actor, director, musician, and pure artist, Leto epitomizes my creative values: never settle, and don 't be afraid to be dedicated to whatever you want to do.
Music has impacted my life in many ways. Through music I have learned that you can do and have whatever you want as long as you put the work and effort to try. As a little kid, I have never been competitive, until I came in contact with the trumpet. When I join my middle school band I learned how to be the best at something and started to learned how to be competitive as I started moving up in high school and going to competitions. Wanting that made me put so much dedication to it. Countless of hours have been on practicing the same things over and over again, giving myself no limits on what to practice. Music basically has showed me how much effort you have to put in, so I can get closer and closer to achieve my goal. As a result, I joined
I agree with you . I’m also not a music major student and this is also my first music class. It was also my first time hearing about this 5 amazing music artist. After listening to the same song such as "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" by Pete Seeger, "You Know I Love You" by B. B. King, "Purple Rain" by Prince, "The Spirit of India" by Ravi Shankar and "Big River" by Kongar Ol Ondar. They all have elements in there music that brings people together. As living in the 2000’s, we most likely hear mainstream music and don’t know what where tones and beats come from. For example, there beautiful tone , lyrics that tell story, and brings cultural music which we may not of known of. This five music artist have also Impacted my life as well. This
Music has affected every person in some form or way. It has a way of squeezing creativity out of the blandest of personalities. Starting as a freshman, I did not look forward to English 1101 because I thought it would take away my creativity. My biggest fear was that there would be limits to the amount of individuality that I would be allowed to let surface in my writing. Imagine being inside of a box. Your thoughts are refined and you hope for at least one tiny hole to be punched into that box. You want to bring a new perspective and individuality to the box. If you have to be in the box, you want to make the box your own. I expected English 1101 to give me very little creative ability; therefore, I did not look forward to my English 1101 class.
Music is part of most of our everyday lives. Adults and Children value music for entertainment purposes, though many of us may not consider what it has to offer us beyond this use. From very early on, children learn nursery rhymes and explore the world of rhythm using pots and pans and wooden spoons. Many individuals acknowledge the importance of music in our lives for enrichment and culture. Research is beginning to uncover the far reaching benefits of music, not just for enjoyment, but also for the social, linguistic, cultural and even psychological benefits it has to offer.
Without the whole world would be entirely different, evidently music has never been described as perfect, one thing that has affected life and made it more exciting is music. Music has shaped my life and continues to impact me on a very personal level.
The most frequent changes happens during one's first eighteen years. From the tantrums being thrown over a toy, to the social arguments on social media. The hardships and good times we have, have over time helped to shape who we become. Music can shape who someone becomes by listening to it for comfort, grieving, celebratory reasons, and a way to get away from everything. I used music to get away from all the hardships and stress in my life through music. Lyrics help to find who I am and help to think of other things about life. Over time an individual will change the music he/she listens to according to what they are dealing with in his/her current life. Music has helped cope with my life during my thirteen, fifteen, and seventeen year
Music can accomplish things. I learned this while working on composing something required to apply to a mentorship program, wherein theory and composition professors at the University of Bennington provide feedback and advice on how to improve on composition. To apply, a chamber piece was needed; this means a piece of music written for few instruments and with each instrument playing a separate part. I began with my daily process of improvising a melody on the piano before expanding it by adding a counter-melody. Many people talk about how they feel a "flow state" when they are focused on something that they love, and this is how I feel when writing and playing music. When I am in this state, I can see the connections between different notes; I can hear what should come next; I can anticipate the pushing and pulling as dissonances resolve and then
Music can play many different roles in someone’s life. Personally, music has played a good role in my life. For example, listening to music to get me pumped up before a game or to just have fun and dance with my friends. The music I listen to typically depends on what mood I am in. My ability to sing along with my favorite song is good, but being able to sing the right note or tune is not so great.
Music, it's a part of everyone's life. From childhood sing-a-long songs, to garage grunge music, and everything in between music is everywhere. Growing up with an extremely musical background it was in my genes that I would become a musician. Playing music has helped me become the person I am by being a release for my anger, broadening my future and make new friends..
Media takes all forms of shapes, from video games to music it influences people daily because we are always surrounded by it. Music especially impacts individuals because in a lot of ways it can say what we want to say in times when we as individuals cannot say it. In those times we lean on music to help us understand the hardship we are going through, or as a mechanism to face our feelings or to block them out. Interpersonal violence which is defined as an individual using power over another in the form of violence whether that be emotional, physical, or sexual. With the many forms of interpersonal violence it’s apparent that it has been expressed in the form of music for quite a while, and sometimes not always in a preventative way. By
I have never been one to love writing with a passion, this is honesty. We all have different passions and ambitions that generally come to us naturally. My passion happens to be music, it always has been. From a young age I discovered music and it has had an extreme impact on my life so when we were asked to begin thinking of a central thesis question to research and write about, music came to mind almost immediately. But instead, I chose to challenge myself by writing about something that actually has a big meaning. Yes, of course I find music to be quite a big deal but I wanted to choose a subject that is an issue in this world and has such a great meaning that it could impact another individual’s life positively whether it be by
I listen to music everyday and I couldn’t imagine going a day without it. This is because listening to music is necessary for me. I listen to music when I am bored, walking to class, at a party, going through different emotions, or basically doing anything. If you turn on your tv anything you watch has background music, we even have music in elevators, which is proving the point that humans need music. Sue Devine writes in an article that “Whether we’re aware of it or not, sound and music is a primary hidden actor in our world” I think that is because it changes your mood, or fixes an awkward silence. Music is always there triggering memories and emotions, and changing our mood in an instant. This is exactly what music does for me, if i’m said i play a sad song, if I want to have fun I turn on dance music, and so on. If I sit down and watch Coming to America with Eddie Murphy and hear the song She’s Your Queen my brain will automatically think of cousin who passed away. He left behind a hilarious video of him singing the song at the top of his lungs. Or if I were to hear Fight The Power, by Public Enemy which is undoubtedly a protest song, I think of the struggles we still face.
