The United States is the only fully developed nation that does not have universal health care. This can be detrimental to the population, more specifically the population of women, especially since almost every person in high positions of power are male. This means that males are making decisions for the opposite sex. Intro. First of all, the government has an ethical obligation to provide for its citizens. Part of the job as a person in power has emphasis on keeping all citizens provided for. In order to do that, however, the people need access to health care, or at least a company that provides affordable care. Planned Parenthood is that company for most, and defunding it strips the only access of healthcare that they have. Many laws have been put into place that protect the people’s rights.
