The Mid West region is about 200 km north of Perth and surrounding by growing economic regions. The Mid West region is a central point between the Pilbara, Kimberley. Although traditionally Mid West is well known for agricultural and fishery products, the Mid West region could able to attract wide range investment for varied sectors (REMPLAN 2015). However, the mining industry is still becoming an economic driver of the region.

Export dominated by mining sector with 40 % valued, followed by manufacture, construction and agriculture, forestry and fishing (REMPLAN 2015).

The Mid West well known as rich natural resources region with large mining industries in Western Australia. The resources of the region include nickel, gold, oil and gas, mineral sands, copper, zinc and lead concentrate, talc, garnet and iron ore. The total value of mineral products is approximately $3.0 billion and the Mid West become the State’s fourth largest mining region of production value after the Pilbara, Goldfields Esperance and Peel regions. Gold is the highest value of mineral commodity with total $925 million in 2012. However, Gold is not processed in the Mid West region. The product is transferred to the Perth mint for refining (Geraldton 2015) . The second largest mineral production is iron ore with $832 million in 2012. ii) Agriculture and

Climate change would increase temperatures and reduce rainfall. It would have a major impact for the region, especially in the farming, fishing and tourism industries, which become main employment generators in the region. Another impact of climate change is rising sea level that would become main issues for the region’s ports and for its coastal towns,Geraldton, The Batavia Regional Organisation of Councils (BROC), comprising the City of Geraldton-Greenough and the Shires of Irwin, Northampton and Chapman Valley, recognised the need for early climate change adaptation planning to undertake a climate change risk assessment and develop an adaptation action plan (Bachar
The English were early settlers in America. Two of their areas of settlement were the New England area and the Chesapeake area. Even though these two places were settled by the same country, both of their societies were very different. The main reasons for their differences were their motives for colonization, slavery, and religion.
Chile has a competitive advantage in the forestry sector since pine grows exponentially faster in the southern forests of Chile than in New Zealand, Sweden, and Canada. While Chile has a competitive advantage in the forestry sector, it is not the leading export. Chile’s leading export is the mining sector which makes up 51 percent of the exports, and contributes more than eleven percent to Chile’s GDP. Not only is the forestry and mining sector important to Chile’s exports, but also the fishery sectors; Chile is one of world’s leading exporters of fish and fishmeal. While Chile is a large exporter and focuses on increasing exports, Chile also imports goods. Chile’s main imported good is manufactured goods, such as
The Appalachian region is one of the most valuable areas of the United States. It is rich in many natural aspects and is home to some of the hardest working citizens in this country. Unfortunately, Appalachia is also home to a variety of harsh social problems including severe drug abuse and a gripping poverty facing a large portion of Appalachian citizens. The two of these issues seem to go hand in hand in many cases, so the solution of one could also lead to the solution of the other. Appalachians have always had a history of handling their own problems, these drastic social problems are no different.
Commodities account for 57% of the value of total exports, so that a downturn in world commodity prices can have a big impact on the economy. The government is pushing for increased exports
The Central Valley of California, United States, is a notable structural depression which covers around 32,187km2 (Figure 1), and is bounded by the Cascade Range in the north, the Sierra Nevada in the east, the Tehachapi Mountains to the South, and the Coast Ranges and San Francisco Bay to the west (Planert 1995).
Australia and China are two countries located in the southern and northern hemispheres respectively. They are both very important and major international exporters across the globe. Australian exports reached an all time high of A$29,970 million in February of 2014, this is a gain of A$120 million from the previous year. Australia’s natural resources are one of its main exports as Australia is so rich in its natural resources such as bauxite, coal, copper, tin, gold, iron ore, silver, uranium, tungsten, nickel, lead, zinc, diamonds, mineral sands, natural gas and petroleum.
Between 2000 and 2016 Australia underwent the most dramatic mining increase because the Victorian gold rush. Investment in the sector, widely defined, quadrupled. The additionally fuelled growth in a huge vary of industries servicing the sector, in particular engineering construction and business services.
The mid-Atlantic and Southern regions during the 17th century, played a big role in creating and structuring America’s politics, economy and social life. Through trial and error eventually these regions formed America into the country as we know it today. The mid-Atlantic 's vast wealth of natural resources allowed this region to become very fruitful, economically in several key industries. The South during this time became very dependent of agriculture and trade. Settlers relied heavily on slave labor to work on farms, which created economic wealth through the use of plantations (Original13colonies, “n.d.). These two particular regions had several overlapping similarities as well as differences that made them unique.
In The United States of Appalachia, by Jeff Biggers, Chapter Six, The great American Industrial Saga. Biggers writes in regards to the Appalachia in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Women and children of the Appalachia worked with cotton, coal, and timber while experiencing a life of deplorable conditions, long hours, and without enough pay to make a living.
Northern and Southern United States both started their history differently. The South was mostly into farming, while the North was more about the industry. Both regions also had sectional differences in the way tariffs and slavery were intertwined. Since there were unfair tariffs that tested dominate leaders like the Britain Crown, many rebellions have been staged.
The population change data in the Northeast Mid-Atlantic region of this map shows that the region has mostly experienced a decline in population. This decline also affects the surrounding Northern regions with few exceptions in states such as Delaware, Virginia and Ohio. This region is the backbone of the manufacturing belt and perhaps the major urban development area in the United States since mid-1800s. Despite having the highest population density at the present day, it has been notable through recent decades that there was significant population movement towards the South and the West. This Sun Belt region has been a major attraction for people in the North due to its richness in amenities. This can be seen in the map as places such as
Climate change creates significant impacts in the Australian context: in considering sea level rise is one of the most critical condition and as per the IPCC report, in 2100 it will increase by79 centimeters (Department of climate change, 2009). Further, it enhances natural hazards affect on the coastal region as flood, inundation, erosion, and storm surges, which will be a significant threat to the coastal community (Button et al.2013). In addition, sea level rise causes a significant change to beaches, coral reefs, estuaries, wetlands and low-lying islands.
As mentioned above, Australian production in iron ore expected to be strong and Indian iron ore exports expected to take off in the next few years. I expect worldwide iron ore vessel shipments to
The cover page of this TIME magazine, an issue of 1979 invoked purely the orientalist idea of the Middle East. It represented the faulty equation of Islam= Muslim= Arab= terrorist or religious fanatics.
The three problems caused by climate change are, rise in sea level, varied energy demand, and water scarcity. Firstly, the impact on costal areas contributing to sea level rise has made low-lying cities vulnerable to them. Hunt and Watkiss (2011, p. 32) estimates that a 50 m raise in sea level would render Mumbai’s informal communities in severe despair. Moreover, climate change will lead to variation in energy demand. Hunt and Watkiss (2011, p. 33) explain even though winter heating will decrease due to warmer weather, cooling anticipated increasing in summer, increasing GHG
