These independent cinema efforts are produced by filmmakers who want to tell a story about their tribes around the world and educate the younger generations. Zacharias Kunuk, filmmaker of Antantarjuat; The Fast Runner and Journals of Knud Rasmussen, “compels non-Inuit spectators to think differently, not only about what constitutes indigenous content in films and more conventional representations of Native Americans in cinematic history, but also about indigenous visual Aesthetics” (Raheji 1168).

The 2009 film Avatar directed by James Cameron is a stunning visual masterpiece that required state of the art animation technology. Avatar was officially budgeted at $237 million and became the highest grossing film of all time bringing in more than two billion at the box office. The film used a new form of stereoscopic filmmaking that was touted as a breakthrough in cinematic technology. Avatar was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won three, for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. Avatar can be analyzed from various new historicist perspectives and effectively makes provocative statements about social issues such as race relations, imperialism, environmentalism, and the tactics of the military industrial complex.

Avatar is a blockbuster film from 2009 and one of my most favorite Sci-fi films of all time. The film was directed by James Cameron, who is known for directing films like Titanic (1997), Aliens (1986), and the Terminator (1984), all of which helped shape the film industry into what it is today. Although at the time, there was a recession and people were trying to save money, this movie became the highest grossing film in at the time. The movie provided stunning 3D technology unlike any other movie and this was one of the reasons that made people want to go watch the film. From visual effects to the camera angles, James Cameron directed this movie to make the audience feel like they are in the movie. Although the film looked amazing, there were messages and themes inside the film that made it such a success. The film provoked discussions about various messages and themes embedded inside the film, such as terrorism, Imperialism, religious connections, and connections to current world. Such messages can be clearly seen throughout the plot of the movie.

The best use of 3D in films comes when a filmmaker is trying to absorb the audience into a different world. Scorsese's *Hugo* leads the audience into Scorsese's magical and whimsical Paris with a gorgeous train staton. *Coraline* draws the audience into Coraline's disturbing alternative life. *Avatar* literally creates a separate world and realizes it with 3D. Marvel's *Doctor Strange*, while not equal in overall cinematic quality to these films, uses 3D incredibly well to align the audience with Doctor Strange and experience the kaleidoscopic "other" dimensional worlds of the film. These extraordinary moments of 3D stand in stark contrast with the flatter, more ordinary world Doctor Strange used to live in before he became a sorcerer/guy with a beard.

In the movie, Human beings had already depleted Earth’s natural and mineral resources which make them to have their expedition in the other planet called Pandora to extract minerals. While extracting minerals, the inhabitant of the place called “Na’vi” which has the highest regards on nature, becomes angry to these invaders. Human being doesn’t care about it and just continue on exploiting the minerals in the planet. Human beings also begin to attack the home of the Na’vi especially the “Tree of Soul” which the human found out having the highest percentage of the minerals they needed for the people of the earth to survive. However the Na’vi won’t allow the humans to destroy their home, so they defended what belongs to them. In the end, human beings lose the battle against the Na’vi because “Eywa” ,goddess of nature, sends a very strong wave of reinforcement of wild beasts which destroys the powerful artillery of the human beings. The humans are sent back to their planet empty handed.

The movie Avatar is a box office hit that was released in 2009, directed by James Cameron. The film is based around an ex-marine who became after a paraplegic after an unexplained wound. He takes up his brother role in a Avatar program on the distant pnet pandora after her brother's death. He is expects to take on the role of becoming a Na'vi and becoming involved with the people learning their culture, becoming close and apart of their tight clan. Specifically the Omaticaya tribe (Blue Flute Clan). Throughout the film the it becomes increasingly obvious that the Omaticaya people have a strong sense of spiritually within their clan.
