Bullying is very bad and because of this about 160,000 of 13,000,000 kids stay home so they don’t get bullied by anyone. Also out of that 13 million 2,000 commit suicide because of the harsh bullying. Since many kids around the world are being bullied schools have been starting an anti-bullying system which brings bullies down by 15%. When kids reported bullying 80% of it is name calling, 39% is hitting or shoving, 38% is threats, 29% is rumor spreading, etc. Everyone should always remember one rule and that is the golden rule, the golden rule is to treat others how they want to be treated, but some bullies just don’t understand so they make everyone feel bad about themselves.

Jewish writer and Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel, in his significant speech, “The Perils of Indifference,” clearly states that indifference is very dangerous to humanity and shall be put to an end. He develops his message through emphasizing the cruel results of indifference. For example, Wiesel explains how a person’s life feels “meaningless” when their neighbor is indifferent. It is indifference that can “reduce the other to an abstraction” (par 8). The author describes what indifference means to him as well. In particular, indifference is “more dangerous than anger and hatred.” It is “not a beginning, it is an end.” It is “not only a sin, it is a punishment” (par 11-13). Lastly, indifference, is viewed as an adverse situation. By being indifferent, it makes it easier for people to “avoid” certain cases that affect their “work,” “dreams,” and “hopes” (par 8). Wiesel’s purpose is to inform, warn, and define indifference in order to bring awareness therefore something can be done to stop the madness. He establishes a formal and serious tone for readers by using stylistic devices such as repetition, imagery, and word choice in order to develop his message that indifference is what can lead to history repeating itself, and we should not risk it at all. Wiesel’s message about the inhumanity of indifference and the importance of resistance is still relevant today.

Countless events in the world have been caught in history books but between the ones that have held to the memory of people is the holocaust. The Holocaust was a very disturbing event that triggered an eye-opener for individuals about how harsh humans can be. The purpose for this is since the vast number of victims and questions as to what was the actual motive behind the need to defeat a whole community. Holocaust is an organized, state financed torment and slaying of approximately six million Jews by the Nazi government run by Adolf Hitler. Separately from Jews, other groups considered lesser or anti-establishment, such as Polish, Gypsies, and Romans were killed. There were numerous reasons for these gruesome murders, insensitive imprisonment and enslavements of victims who were forced into labor while starving.

Years ago society saw bullying as the big kid on the playground that stole lunch money from kids. That is not what “bullying” describes now days. According to stopbullying.gov bullying is:

Historically, people have apparently really disliked Judaism, from their oppression(and various counts of genocide and mass murder over several hundred years) at the hands of the Romans and later the Byzantines, oppression at the hands of Muslims, the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the hundreds of blood libels incited by Christians from 700 CE to 1950 CE, their persecution, and murder, at the hands of Russian in in the early 1900s(and earlier), and of course, the Holocaust, they hold a long, and saddening history of oppression. We are however just focusing on only one of these, the Holocaust, and how Hitler originally wanted to solve his ‘Jewish problem’ and how it eventually escalated to his ‘Final Solution’.

Bullies gain self-pleasure by inflicting pain towards others of the same class, often making their lives miserable. In many cases children may start bullying other children because they don’t understand that is wrong. Bullying also can be learning from home, community, television, movies or internet. The bullies can be also victimization by others, physical abuse, modeling of bullying behavior from parents or lack of supervision by parents.

Bullying occurs at a young age and it is mostly dealt at school or on the bus. Many people hear horrific stories about students being bullied and what comes to their mind is why no one stand up for them or why no one did anything to help them. The major question is why that student did not speak up and tell an adult about the bully bothering them. The answer is simple, those who are victims of bullying are consumed by fear. When they do seek help, they are ignored and they have to face all of this on their own.

People live for one thing and that is happiness, but how can someone go through day-by-day with being bullied that’s the biggest issue we are facing in the school systems these days. The studies and evidence is proved with videos, post on social media or even being a part of it is another thing. Overall, bullying is sometimes viewed as a perspective of how kids act when they feel the need that they are neglected, jealous and are emotionally distressed in a certain situation. This problem can also arise with the top person wanting to act as the overall top dominator to show that they are better and everyone should follow their lead, but we see these days as another problem that a lot of bystanders. Bullying. Bullying can happen anywhere at anytime. Don’t be a bystander! Stand up, speak out and help others. Over 3.2 billion people are bullied each year. The reason people bully is because “hurt people hurt people.” If something is going on at home and you don’t know how to solve it, people may take out their, stress, aggression, or anger out on other people.

Everyone has either been bullied or have been the bully, but the ones who are the bully don’t see what they’re really doing until it’s too late.

Every day, millions of people wake up afraid of bullies. Bullying can happen anywhere, anytime. Bullying is a big issue these days, and bullies’ actions are very unpredictable. No one knows who a bullies’ next target might be and what their reasoning is. Today, bullying can be considered more extreme than it was even ten years ago, with the advent of the internet and resulting cyber-bullying. Many celebrities and organizations are speaking out for the cause, warning others about the dangers of bullying and the sometimes-fatal consequences.
