Breeched pregnancies are something that 13 percent of women in the United States have to deal with. There is not always something that can be done about the breeched pregnancy, and sometimes they baby is just more content that way. It can be a long difficult process deciding what is best for the baby, but there are a lot of options that you can choose from so that you and your baby get the best treatment possible. However, there is a lot of research, stories, and studies about breeched pregnancy that might shine a little light on what is happing to both the baby and the mother. According to the Baby Center (2013) if your baby is breech, it means that he will come out feet first. Around 8 months, there is not much room in the uterus. Most babies decide to use the space for settling head down, in what is known as the cephalic presentation, but not all babies are content that way. A woman goes into labor at full term around 37 weeks or later. Around 97% of babies are going to come out head first. However, the rest of them are what is considered breached. Meaning that they come out anyway but head first. There are many different kinds of breech presentations and some are worse than others.
