Wearing fur in Britain twenty ages ago would have been considered as an unlawful deed, where people would criticize you and some would even assault you by throwing paint over you, but recently the world has noticed a vast rise of the fur industry. Fur is a type of material used for clothes taken from animals ranging from rabbits to seals and beyond, basically it’s the skin of some animals. Fur is widely used by a good number of people aimed to satisfy numerous different types of uses, such as clothes, blankets and occasionally even for decoration like carpets and curtains. Animal fur is provided by high-end and even normal stores, but in my opinion fur should not be worn, for it represents the torture and suffering of innocent animals, as a …show more content…
Humanity has lost its heart, tolerating these immense criminal acts and massive massacres against beautiful creatures around our Mother Earth has even cost us more than just our hearts. The fur industry is one of the cruelest industries in the world, making an animal go through so much pain and suffering just to be sold for a very cheap price in dozen, as humans our job is to protect these poor animals by raising awareness against how much agony and torture animals go through, plus we must encourage people to boycott any brand that uses fur. The most killed animal species for their fur are Minks, secondly foxes and then Chinchillas. They’re kept imprisoned and caged up in unsanitary and crowded cages helplessly watching their kind being slaughtered mercilessly and then thrown into a pile of murdered animals, what’s worse is that they are in line for the mass slaughter of either having their skin ripped off their bodies or being smashed against a wall and after that they will be disposed of just like a piece of a gum wrapper, their death comes when the excruciating pain becomes too much to
Over a 100 million animals, mice/rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea, pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds are killed. They’re killed in biology lessons, medical training, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. Before some animals deaths, some are forced to inhale toxic fumes, immobilized on restraint devices for hours, some have holes drilled into their skulls and etc. They are also confined to barren cages, socially isolated, and psychologically traumatized.
cows, horses and many more are skinned alive and left for dead to suffer a brutal execution (Dudley 17). Fur farms are at an even bigger fault in this clothing industry of horror. In many cases there are thousands of animals raised in a crammed cage and then are forced to relieve themselves directly where they stand developing many illnesses and infections (Whalow 2). Many of these animals do not even know what the ground feels like. Often some may die of starvation, infection or other illnesses and be left for dead in these cages for days (Kerven 14).
Animals are much more complex and innovative that should be given more credit than it should be. Now learned about the animal feelings exist, human could be too cruel in using their survivor coat, fur, for expensive souvenirs or fashion runway. The Born Free USA organization expounds in 50 million violently killed animals for fashion every year. Fur is believed to get from meat production, but ¨fur comes from animals who are factory-farmed or trapped purely for fashion.¨ Animal furs are obtained through gassing, electrocution, or neck breaking in traps. Imagined a full house of fully coated species trap in a cramp factory house, the animal of intelligence are thought to be under humane treatment, but the fashion factories say differently. Rifkin support of animal is simply a moral principle that every human should have instead of thinking as a superior intelligent
To bring awareness I am going to point out how important an animal’s life is just as important, they have feelings. They feel pain, fear, as well as abandonment. People think that because they have fur that they should be treated differently.Their lives are just as important as ours. Cruelty and neglect cross socio-economic boundaries, and media reports suggest that animal abuse is common in both rural and urban areas. (Humane society of the United States, 2016)
Hunting is not a form of animal cruelty because its serves a purpose to the population of certain animals. Animal cruelty is when people force pain on animals which lead them to suffer a slow agonizing death. This is a large moral issue today that just keeps growing into a nationwide problem. For instance, morally humans believe it is okay to harm non-domesticated animals rather than domesticated animals such as our pets. Domesticated animals and non-domesticated animals still have behavioral instincts. A domesticated dog will attack if threatened and a non-domesticated wolf would do the same. Thinking of ourselves as the dominate species is untrue in the state that animals kill other animals for food, just as we as hunters do and anyone who eats animal products. Many will ask what the differences are between hunting, poaching, and true animal cruelty.
This deception begins with the fact that the American fur trade is not one that holds its innocent animals with respect, as they are butchered by the thousands and are subject to wretchedly inhumane methods of confinement. Animals farmed for their fur are imprisoned in cages for the remainder of their life, forced to endure intensive confinement. As a matter of fact, eighty-five percent of the fur industry‘s skins come from animals that are held captive on fur factory farms, where they are crammed into severely crowded, filthy wire cages. Foxes, minks, and ferrets, are an example of this as they spend the rest of their lives stacked on top of one another in barren cages with nothing beneath their feet, save wire mesh. Those at the top of the stacks are considerably more fortunate as they are not subject to feces and water falling into their food, from the animals imprisoned above. These unfit conditions evoke self-mutilation, sickness, infection, and cannibalism. In turn, premature death is severely rampant amongst fur farms and the fur trade in general. . In support, wildlife biologist, Mark Pimlott, states that animals held in captivity will suffer high mortality in the first few weeks of confinement. Unfortunately, captive animals are susceptible to even more pain as death
Throughout time humans have forged sympathy for numerous animals, created from the relationships we have developed over time, bonding and interacting with them. We have a grimace look with an animal that's been physically abused or a farm animal being butchered for the meat that eventually make its to the grocery shelf. Having watched videos on supermarket suppliers we don't realize the apathy of some various meat, dairy and egg industries that settle their animals in heinous conditions and have utter negligence for their sentience. It becomes certain that these wondrous animals who provide us with an ecological resource are not respected and action is necessary to punish those individuals. As a society we sometimes disregard the death of some animals, it's unfair but we are just biased on the affection we show to certain animals.
Despite the polling of the 94% almost 10 billion farm animals each year are suffering and if the consumers would have seen how they were treated they might have thought twice before they bought it. Another thing to think about is more than 10,000 american horses die for human consumption even though that 80% say it shouldn’t happen. 1
Each year billions of animals are being tortured, blinded, scaled and used. Humans create these devastating events that occur. Animals experience pain and confusion throughout their life. There is great entertainment seeing animals in circuses and zoos but, there is a very dark side on how the animal performs. An elephant is beaten and trained until they are stripped from their spirit. Breeders are breeding large amount of animals, and shelters are becoming increasingly crowded. Animals are even sharing breathing space. The ignorance of our society is convincing that breeding animals are honorable. In reality, society is not just using animals for entertainment and breeding, but mass production of food. People are killing these animals
In order to reduce cost, fur farmers confine animals in extremely congested places where they hardly have any place to move. This confinement is highly distressing to the animals and causes them to get extremely restless. These animals often tend the bite their skin, tails and feet out of anxiousness. Animals in fur factory farms are fed by products that are considered unfit for human consumption. (“Inside The Fur Industry”,n.d). Would we ever want to be fed like this? We do not even eat food that is nearing the end of its shelf life out of the fear of food poisoning.
Cruella De Vil isn’t the only person who wears fur. The killing of animals for their fur is a common day thing, and is not only a disgusting act, but also unnecessary and people who purchase it is rightfully represented by a villain in Disney’s “101 Dalmations.” Cruella De Vil isn’t the only villain in the world who is violently killing animals in order to make supposedly luscious full length fur coats. However, she did have enough puppies to make a full length coat. Typically it takes around 100 animals to make said item. To keep up with the demand for fur coats, around 2 million cats, along with hundreds of thousands of dogs are killed in China. The animals contained on fur farms live in monstrous conditions, all leading up to
According to the ASPCA “Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats. Each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats). In this study, we can see how many domestic animals are being abused. These animals are simply suffering for the enjoyment of the owner, and these animal’s deaths are most importantly meaningless because the death didn’t lead to any technological advancements in the medical field or contributed to its society. This is something that could rapidly spread if we ignore animal rights. We can also see millions of animals being killed and sold to the black market for their rich ivory. Over 10,000 elephants have been killed in the past three years for their ivory stated by an article on national geographic. This is yet again another claim that animal rights activist state that this is important. Overall ignoring animal rights can come with great things but it also has its
“Imagine being abused by someone you trust and who is supposed to love you, and to make the situation worse, you can’t use your voice to cry out for help. Animals are like humans except they can’t tell people to stop.” Animal cruelty and abuse, a good website, said that. I think that is a big problem we need to fix. People hurting animals just because they can’t speak out for themselves. Some people take advantage of that. And it us up to humans to tell those people to stop.
In recent times there have been an increase in the fancy over fur as a commodity.Fur clothing is made up of hides of an animal. Some view fur as to be a form of luxury and as a material possession that proves one to be wealthy whilst some refuse it due to moral beliefs.Controversy still however exists pertaining to the wearing of fur clothing. This is due to the cruelty towards animals in the process of attaining their fur for procession into an clothing.
Imagine this, in the near future when your children are of age and their curiosity begins to blossom and you find yourself at a zoo or in front of the television and you find that there are no animals left and that the last animal of kind was poached for its hide, fur, or ivory. With the dramatic decline of endangered animals, this possibility is eminent.
