I grew up in a very small town in Maryland. The population is only about 5,000, so everybody knows everybody. The name of the town was Mount Airy, Maryland. I lived there all my life until 2010, when I moved down to Florida with my mom, brother and sister after my parents went through a divorce. Everybody I knew either liked the Baltimore Ravens or the Washington Redskins. I love the Baltimore Ravens. The Baltimore Ravens were always a good team; some years they did better than others but they always had a winning record. The year of 2012 came around and it hit them. They were a really good team, a totally different team from 2011 and it had everyone talking. The Ravens started off the season with a bang, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals; 44-13 which started the hype of the season for the Baltimore Ravens. They went on throughout the season winning more and more games. Of course, it is very difficult to have a perfect season so they did lose some. The Baltimore Ravens ended up with a regular season record of 10-6, which is decent.
The Ravens made the playoffs, but barely. They were a wild card team, which can be tough because they are the lowest seed out of the other teams fighting their way to a super bowl victory. The first game is coming around the corner so I decided to have some of my friends over for the game. The wildcard game was between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. This game took place on January 6, 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland. My friends came
In 1933, three new teams were added to the NFL, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and the Eagles. The NFL consisted of ten teams now, and the ten teams were split into two different divisions, the Eastern and Western division. The Eastern division consisted of the Philadelphia Eagles, Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, Boston Redskins, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Western Division consisted of the Chicago Bears, Portsmouth Spartans, Chicago Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, and the Cincinnati Reds. The winner of each division would meet in the NFL championship game.
The Carolina Panthers had to come out of the locker room after the first half needing to get something going if they were going to come back and beat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. The first half was dominated by the defense. Whose defense would be able to hold out for the rest of the game would determine who would win the Super Bowl.
Every person ever associated with football knows how the game is played. They know every rule, play, stat, and anything else that can be recorded. There was a certain one of these people, though, that stood out from the rest. This was a man by the name of Vince Lombardi. Most people generally know who Vince Lombardi was. They know him as the former, and most famous, coach of the Green Bay Packers back in the late fifties and early sixties. They also recognize him as the man the trophy awarded to the Super Bowl winner, the Lombardi Trophy, is named after. This is all common knowledge in the football world. Do any of these people know who Vince really was? Do they know what he did to the game of football? Do they know that he changed the
Many NFL fans expected the browns to fail but the browns quickly proved they were no
In the last five years, either an NFC West (Seattle twice; San Francisco) or NFC South (Carolina Panthers; Atlanta Falcons) team has represented the conference in the Super Bowl. However, as divisional powers shift, we could see a shakeup in the NFC during the upcoming season. With the NFL Draft completed and training camps beginning, let’s look at the NFC teams that could represent their divisions in the 2017-18 playoffs.
Founded on September 7th, 1630, Boston was one of the largest cities in North America, and was also a hotbed for revolutionary Patriots in the late 1700’s. Yet very little meaningful fighting happened around this area, despite its size, and the some 28,000 men in and around it. It was because of the Continental Army's lack of discipline, trained officers and adequate equipment, and the British force's laziness around orders and lack of enthusiasm for going on the offensive that made the Siege of Boston an avoidable, and pointless stalemate.
The Carolina Panthers found themselves a star in Kelvin Benjamin drafting him 28th overall in 2014 draft. We took him 28th overall I think he has already become a steal for the Panthers and Dave Gettleman who is a great evaluator of talent. He took the NFL by storm becoming quarterback Cam Newton's favorite target right away and for good reason; setting Panther rookie records for receptions receiving yards and touchdowns with 79 catches 1008 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Ravens were a trendy Super Bowl 50 pick, [comma] but had a rough season and finished 5-11. Dumervil is signed with the Ravens for two more seasons, so there’s still a chance of reaching his first Super Bowl with Baltimore.
This year we experienced, according to many, the greatest comeback in sports history. The New England Patriots came back from being down 28-3 to end up winning the Super Bowl against the Atlanta Falcons. The NFL has had many crazy games, but where did it all begin? The NFL, founded in 1920, has morphed greatly since the origin, and has immensely impacted the world of sports.
The first quarter has passed and both teams are ready for another quarter. The Ravens have wide receiver Dennis Pitta scored a 1-yard touchdown, and another wide receiver Jacoby Jones has scored a 56-yard touchdown. The 49ers are struggling to get things going on offense. The 49ers scored a field goal. It's the end of the quarter and Baltimore is winning 21-6. Things aren't looking good for the San Francisco 49ers right now.
The Ravens are also coming off a win at home, this time against the New Orleans Saints, 30-27, at the M&T Bank Stadium.
The Washington Redskins have had the name since they began playing in the NFL. Its name does not have anything to do with the team, however, the connotation of the word “Redskin", negative and a derogatory term, shows why the Washington Redskins should change their name. Charles Krauthammer explains his reasons of why they should change the name of the team by using the example of the word “retarded” as it is now, not associated with being dumb or insufficient intelligence, rather “developmentally disabled”. He later explains how someone would not simply go up to someone and call them “retarded” due to the connotation it has. Krauthammer also recognises the fact that there are still people to this day who “contain sentimental and historical
The offense started to show promise and the defense was strong vs the Cardinals which is good as they’ll travel to New England to play the Patriots this week. The Patriots are ailing with QB woes and the Bills could possibly steal a victory from the Patriots due their injury situation at QB.
The book, Raiders Night by Robert Lipsyte was a very different book compared to other 9th grade books. While you guys might feel that your gonna read how a guy gets a scholarship and wins a championship but this book proves that not every sports book is the same. If you go to the library, and pick any book off the shelf. I doubt you’ll find one involving drugs and steroids. At the same time it was a great book, I loved the intensity on how Matt has everything he needs but now needs to learn how to put away his distractions and stay focused. For me it was very easy to relate in life, I was never the big guy that everyone knew. I was just there for football nothing else. I liked the book a lot because of its intensity, its interesting organization of the book, and it's way how the formed the characters.
