Same sex marriage is a topic today that brings strong moral objections from both sides. Should same sex marriage be allowed? Should these humans be given the same rights in their relationship as heterosexual couples? Why restricted these citizens from their right just because of their love interest? Should we take certain customs away from foreigners just because it’s not customs we perform? The United States is a land of the free not the restricted. We are not robots set to one program and one program alone every human being is an individual and they all do things their own way. If you were in their position you would want the same thing, to be happy. Homosexual couples have

Some say that “love is blind,” and they are right. Love is between the souls of two people, whether it be : a black male and white female, a black female and an Asian male, or male and another male love has no boundaries. When it happens and you fall in love, what do you do next? Well you pursue them of course! Why let your dreams fall apart just because of your soul mate ends up being the same sex as you. Then you find out it’s hopeless to purse your full dream it’s not legal to marry. Marriage belongs to everyone, it’s what we all wish for why rip that from someone. Why would you rip it away from yourself? A legal parent is defined as a person who has the right to live with a child and make decisions about the child’s education, well being and health. Legal parents must also support their children financially. When a heterosexual married couple has a child both parents are automatically considered to be the child’s legal parents. Even if the couple divorces, both parents still are legal parents of the child unlike homosexual couples who have to go through the legal system to find out the fate of the child. Some people say that children need a mother and a father to raise us; to provide both viewpoints of gender: masculinity, femininity and all the issues those entail. However, there are many who believe that gender does not matter when parenting.
Homosexual partners bring children into their lives in a number of ways. In lesbian couples, frequently, one
The United States of America was founded as a secular sanctuary for ideals like freedom, equality, and tolerance – few will argue against that. Over its history American culture has radically evolved as it strived to meet the ideals its nation was based upon, making changes like ending slavery and providing legal equality for women and minorities, changes that at the time seemed absurd but today are unquestionable merits that define what an “American” is. The quest to reach the ultimate utopian society continues today as true Americans fight the evils of ignorance, stubborn bigotry and the fear to change that still manifest themselves in a large portion of U.S. citizens, preventing this nation from moving forward. One of the outstanding minorities still left to be granted the ideals of freedom, equality, and tolerance are homosexuals trying to obtain the right to marry the person they want to spend the rest of their life with, regardless of gender. Same-sex marriages should be recognized in the eyes of the U.S. government in accordance with its responsibility to provide all American citizens equal freedoms.
The conception that lesbians and gay men may be parents is frequently perceived in today 's society as impossible or immoral. Gay men and lesbians are often viewed as excluded from having children because sexual reproduction is related to men and women couples only. My approach to this uniquely controversial topic of gay parenting will be that of attempting to analyze the pro side. Gays and lesbians are human too and who is to say that they don 't deserve equal rights in society. Society has to realize that the modern family has developed into many different forms in recent years in that the traditional "nuclear family" is not necessarily the
Lately there has been a great deal of discussion over legalising same sex marriage. To some people; there is no problem with it. However this is a controversial matter and there is still a great deal of debate ongoing in some countries, including this one, whether homosexual couples should continue to be denied the rights that straight couples enjoy. There is no reason why homosexuals relationships should be differentiated in any way from heterosexual ones. Homosexuality isn 't a choice. Any intolerance in our society concerning something someone cannot control, where no harm is caused, is not only ludicrous but also a form of discrimination. There is
Transforming Law 's Family is a book that examines the specific difficulties confronted by planned lesbian families as they endeavor to characterize their parental rights and explore a family legal framework that does not generally grasp option types of parentage. Fiona Kelly, an associate educator in the faculty of law at the University of British Columbia is the author of the book. With her critical awareness of the law’s breaking points, joined empirical research, and hypothetical engagement, to argue the lawful issues raised by lesbian parenthood, focusing principally on legal parentage. The book is broken down into six chapters. the first chapter discuss the legal and social context of planned lesbian parenthood , the second chapter talked about the terms of gay and lesbian family social
The US Census Bureau conducted scientific research on the children of thousands of homosexual parents and reported that those children were as healthy, psychologically in regards of social relationships, self-esteem and behavioral problems. It is the quality of the parenting that determines the wellbeing of a child, not the sexual preference of the parent.
The last forty years, we have encountered a major change in the diverse range of family forms in Western society than simply the heterosexual-parented nuclear family, including intentionally childless families, families of separated parents, single-parent families, step-families, blended-families, families of same-sex parents, and families in which the children are conceived with donated gametes and/or reproductive technologies (de Vaus, 2004; McNair, 2004; Wise, 2003). One reason for this rapid diversification is what is referred or known as the “lesbian baby boom” or a
Just because someone doesn’t love the same way as you do does not make them wrong or make them crazy, it makes them unique. Majority of people around the world feel that marriage should be between a man and a woman and that gays should not have that right because they believe being gay is morally wrong. If being gay is morally wrong then why are their gay people? That is like saying being white is morally wrong. People honestly who believe this don’t really stop and think outside the box and think that what is in the bible is right. If you look at the ethical reason behind why people believe that gay marriage is wrong, it is purely due to discrimination. There are no real reasons why gay
Based on a 2015 poll, 39% of Americans are against the idea of gay marriage (Changing Attitudes). However, this opinion fails to take into account that the United States characterizes itself with the phrase “Liberty and Justice for all.” Where is the liberty and justice for same-sex couples? Gay marriage is not something that Americans can dismiss without taking into consideration the economical boost that takes place because of it, the freedom of religion the United States promises and the rights that come along with it, and more importantly, the human beings who are affected that deserve liberty and equality just like the rest of the nation
Same sex marriage: A civil right or a moral wrong? In many eyes same sex marriage is a disgusting thing that should not be allowed. In some cases, dating as far back as the early 1800s, men were castrated, and sometimes even killed. In more recent times, gays, lesbians, and transgender people have become more accepted, but there is still a vast amount of people who want to kill people like that. The people in the LGBT community are often denied adoption, for reasons that are not valid, such as “Lesbian and gay people are more likely y be child molesters.” There has also been many lawsuits involving the mistreatment of LGBT people. People in the LGBT community are often denied the basic rights of heterosexual couples because of
Homosexual rights have progressed throughout history; although the discrimination has lessened there is still a large amount in todays society. Parenting in the LGBTQ community has been a very controversial topic because some families feel that, a relational environment that is presented by the homosexual community is not safe for the development of a child. With newly found opportunities, such as, adoption, fostering, artificial insemination, surrogacy and many other things allow families with same sex parents to spring up across the nation. In most cases children can be well raised to function properly with same-sex parents.
These desires will translate into parenting by a homosexual person or couple because when their child is experiencing an internal conflict, whether it is about self-identity or sexual orientation; a homosexual parent will be able to sympathize and relate to the child more because they have experienced it as well, thus, making the child feel comfortable to talk to their parent and feel understood. Many heterosexual parents fail in this aspect and make their child feel disconnected from them because many heterosexual parents are usually not open to these types of issues.
There is a negative perception about the LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, plus) community’s ability to parent. People assume that individuals from this community are mentally unstable, want to “turn kids gay,” or are otherwise unfit parents. There is an abundance of research on lesbian mothers and the outcome of their children, however there is very little on gay fathers, bisexual, or transgender parents. Without the research on these communities it can create uninformed assumptions, making it harder for individuals in the community to be taken seriously as parents. Because there is plenty of work on lesbian mothers available, I chose instead to focus on gay male, bisexual, and transgender parents.
Gay marriage should be allowed nobody is perfect. In this world we all have the ability to love somebody. We shouldn’t judge others, all of us are human beings just because we don’t like a man or women of our kind. Each one of us that are homosexuals or lesbians or gays. Doesn’t mean that we can’t have the same things as men and women some people believe that same sex marriage is against their morals and their religious won’t accept it. Gay marriage should be allowed because the government shouldn’t interfere with people’s personal life, same-sex marriage deserves the same benefits of marriage as any other couple, however, the opposing side believes same-sex marriage is against their morals and religious beliefs; A
First, it can clearly be seen that same-sex marriage is primarily about equality. Everyone has equal rights and liberties to chase happiness, as long as it does not cause harm to the society, so why should their freedoms be limits? Why can’t someone be able to marry a person they truly love? Discrimination and banning homosexual couples to get married violates human rights and freedoms. Laws which against gay marriage deny the First Amendment which states that everyone has freedom of speech, expression and religion. Sexual determination is an option, so it is how some people can express themselves.
In an online blog, Alpen Gideon describes the discussions people have over homosexual marriages adopting children. One of the discussions is that the child could become gay for being raised by a homosexual marriage. Parents are the role models that the children look up. I do not agree that kids being raised by two of the same couples will turn out
