The companies Apple and Microsoft have been battling for years trying to be the best of the best in the world of technology. They both offer a wide variety of gadgets such as tablets, phones, and computers. Due to the fact they offer such a wide variety of electronics many believe Apple is better while others believe Microsoft is better and they both have their reasons for believing this. That is why I will be focused on comparing the similarities and differences between Apple and Microsoft then let you decide whose side you’ll take and where you’d like to spend your money. I would just like to begin by saying that it is somewhat ironic that these two companies feud over who is the best in the world of technology. It looks be ironic because their products are actually very different from one another in everything from build, price, appearance and even use. The only visible similarity between both companies, is somewhat obvious and that is that they can both access the internet. So, with this being said, it is now time to begin telling you the differences they have from one another. One of their biggest and most important differences being computer security and viruses. When running a windows operating system made by Microsoft you must download an external security suite such as Norton, MacAfee, etc. These security suites can range anywhere from $50 to $200 dollars depending upon how much protection you are looking for. They are not only pricey but once downloading you will
Microsoft and Apple are two potencies when it comes to the computer related and consumer electronics industry. Both companies have many similarities and differences with each other, and both were corporate within a few years of each other.
One feature that Apple offers that Microsoft doesn’t have is ITunes and an App store which offer customer to buy as much music as they want to be stored on their phone, iPod or computer or mac. This means that Apple appeals to a larger target group and can get more business. One feature that
Technology has changed over the years. What started out as the typewriter is now the computer. This piece of technology can do anything from surfing the web to playing video games. Microsoft and Apple have both changed the way we use electronics. Microsoft has better electronics than Apple. Microsoft has better phones, computers, and tablets.
Today, Microsoft is worth seventy-two billion dollars. Now, one of the biggest questions are “Microsoft or Apple?”. Many people prefer a Windows 10, but others prefer a
Microsoft seems bound and determined to officially destroy the company that is known as Apple. No, they are not intending to blow Apple up or cause a nuclear war with them, but they seem like they are going to let their products do the talking for them. Microsoft is on a role and that role should only get bigger after their latest news of releasing a new Skype and smart headsets.
Apple and Microsoft personally, are two different types of computer designs with their own strengths and weaknesses. Many of their differences are purely cosmetic, but others are major, including their built-in system tools, available applications, and overall usability.
It seems that the competition that has been brewing between Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) has never really died down from the late 1970s, even as both companies have had ups and downs in the stock market and in the consumer products market as well.
A computer isn’t just your average school supply, it’s your partner in crime through the next few years as you conquer college. Through all-night study sessions, online quizzes, last second homework and frantic emails, it will literally become your best friend. So how do you find your perfect match? And how do you take a side in the “Mac vs. PC” battle to pick the one that fits you best? Here are some things to consider as you look for your new
The PC and Mac can do all the same activities. Whether you want to browse the internet, check your e-mail, instant message, create documents or presentations, or listen, edit, create music or video, both a PC and a Mac can do all of these things correspondingly well. Mac and Windows are both compatible with handheld devices. Unlike the past when PCs were more open to viruses, the Mac is also open to such. To protect both devices from attacks, they updated with an anti-virus software. Both can be used by home owners, students, businessmen and so many more people. They can be made-to-order to a client’s preference; they both have voice commands, and use the mouse, maps and keyboard as their interface. Regardless of these similarities,

If there is one image that comes to mind when picking between Apple and Microsoft, are the two largest technology companies that have been arch-rivals for decades, both successful and the two share similarities as well as differences in the IT Industry. Corporations such as these two are very similar in the development of consumer and business products. Microsoft and Apple co-founders are well known as the companies they owned and both men are seen as a pair of the greatest entrepreneur ever. Each company sells similar products such as portable media players, smartphones and tablet devices. Also, each one of them owns retail stores. However, differences between the two corporations are also noticeable when it comes to their focus towards the market and the way they approaches it. If It comes down to only two words to describe the differences, it will be these two, “productivity and creativity” . I will certainly explain the similarities and contrasts of both corporations in the following paragraphs, including the meaning of both words of contrast between both enterprises.
Microsoft Corporation’s profitability ratios: Figure 2. From 2012 to 2013, Microsoft Corporations profit margin increased roughly 5%, although there was a slight decrease from 2013 to 2014, the profit margin still increased nearly 2.5% overall. Their return on assets experienced a decrease of over 1% due to a sizeable increase in inventory on the books, similar to Apple Incorporated. Microsoft Corporation’s return on equity also decreased by nearly 1% between 2012 and 2014 due to sizeable increases in the amount of equity held in the company.
The website is well organized, making it very simple to find what a person is looking for. Unlike Microsoft, it is well spaced, which helps to grab the reader’s attention. Microsoft’s homepage is setup fairly differently from Apple’s. Instead of having a main ad like Apple, its site has a set of highlights advertising their information. Highlights do not catch a reader’s attention as well as Apple’s large ad. Furthermore, Microsoft’s homepage is also packed with a lot of information in such little space. The information is broken down into bullet points, but the font is small and there are hardly any images to differentiate between the items. There is little to attract the reader to make him/her want to read through this content because it just appears to be boring. Therefore, the homepage of Apple and Microsoft differ.
The company started off as “Apple Computer,” best known for its Macintosh personal computers (PCs) in the 1980’s and 1990’s. Despite a strong brand, rapid growth, and high profits in the late 1980s, Apple almost went bankrupt in 1996 (Kim & Yoffie, 2010, p.1). This can be explained that Apple has become larger and more significant than other competitors put together in 1980. Because Apple failed to innovate in 1996, the company almost went bankruptcy but eventually Steve Jobs took Apple from bad situation to the company that can make billions of dollars through promoted itself as a hip alternative to other computer brands. Apple highlighted its computers as the world’s “greenest lineup of notebooks” that were energy efficient and used recyclable materials. The goal was to differentiate the Macintosh amid intense competition in the PC industry (Kim & Yoffie, p.4).
Just as you cannot judge a book by its cover, you cannot do the same when it comes to a computer. Both, Apple and Microsoft, have their very own separate operating windows. For Apple it is Mac for short. For Microsoft, it is called Windows. Both provide the same function, the ability to give commands and operate a computer. The difference between these two is that Mac is much known for its great coded scripts in its operating
