The Titanic conspiracy
On April 10th, 1912 the RMS Titanic set out on it’s maiden voyage across the Atlantic ocean. But tragedy fell upon the glorious ship when the titanic struck an iceberg and sank, or so people think it was the actual Titanic. Today conspiracies have arisen as to whether the Titanic was the actual Titanic or it was the Titanic’s sister ship the RMS Olympic. Today so many pieces of evidence prove that it was in fact the Olympic. I feel that the Titanic that sailed on April 10th, 1912 was actually the Olympic. The Evidence
There have been witnesses in the past to testify that the Titanic and the Olympic were switched. A man named James A. Fenton who was a construction worker for the construction of the Titanic said they were switched. But this was not discovered till later because he and other workers were pulled aside by an important government official and an important person in the White Star Line company and they were read an “official secrets act.” This act stated if they breathed a word about the switch they would be sent to jail for 20 years and would not get a job ever again when they got out. Two important people in the White Star Line company also happened to cancel their trips right before the Titanic was suppose to make its maiden voyage. J.P. Morgan cancelled his trip because he said he was ill, but he was spotted in France two days later. Then, J. Bruce Ismay cancelled his trip because his wife was ill, but they were spotted in wales on a vacation. This shows that if they both cancelled their trip, then both of them had to have known that something was going to happen.
Before the Titanic was built, the Olympic had a wreck with the HMS Hawke on September 20th, 1911 off the coast of Isle of Wight. This collision caused a major hole in the side of the ship and it threw a propeller. It caused problems for the owners because the Olympic had to be taken out of service to be repaired. This made White Star Line push back the maiden voyage of the Titanic from March 20th to April 10th. They did this because they had to repair the Olympic. Pushing the dates would have cost White Star Line
Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic on April 15, 1912. The pie graph indicates that Design & Construction and Environmental Factors had the least effect on the Titanic's sinking.
The British luxury passenger ship, The Titanic, set sail on April 10, 1912, en route to New York City from Southampton (Lord ch 1). During her maiden voyage, midnight of April 15, 1912, she began to sink (ch 1). The Titanic had a collision with an iceberg that was around 100 feet tall (“Titanic: 40 Fascinating Facts” 3). Regardless to how greatly manufactured the Titanic was, and with beliefs that she was unsinkable, the miscalculation of human error proves that every possible outcome cannot be prevented, disasters can still occur regardless of careful planning.
The Titanic was a ship that sunk during its maiden voyage in 1912. This big ship was on it’s way to New York when it struck an iceberg. It was believed to be “unsinkable” but that night it met it’s fate and sunk killing many passengers. As the story goes they say it’s the icebergs fault for the sinking of the ship. When in reality, the White Star Line was truly at fault for the sinking of the Titanic. They are responsible for this tragedy because they went full speed after ignoring six ice warnings. Not only that but they should've thought of the consequences when they decided to take off lifeboats for more room for luxury items. Then they weren’t prepared and never had any drills or safety procedures for if the ship were to sink.
The Titanic was a modern marvel. The Titanic was a part of a trio of abnormally large ships to be built by White Star Line due to a rivalry with another shipping company (Brewster & Coulter, 1998). With newer technology coming with new age, White Star Line vessels aimed to please with being able to arrive on time consistently while also having luxury (Eaton & Haas, 1986). Because of the combination
One of the greatest news headlines of all times was actually never supposed to happen. The shocking news of the sunken ocean liner the Titanic shocked millions. The sinking itself probably wouldn’t have even mattered except that the builders themselves said that the ship simply could not sink. The news not only hit the United States, but countries everywhere were saddened to hear the news of “The Unsinkable” and its grave end.
The USS Indianapolis sinking is a very historical event that was said to be incorrectly
“White Star's advance publicity of Titanic switched into damage control once the loss of the vessel became known. Reportedly, on 14 March 1913, the company requested Father Browne not to deliver a planned lecture on the Titanic. According to John Wilson Foster this “began the decades' long official reticence about the ship”. (The Titanic Complex: A Cultural Manifest (Vancouver: Belcouver Press, 1997), p. 70.)” And it did, in fact, lead to an official silence over the events that surrounded the sinking of the Titanic for obvious reasons. As everyone who has ever heard of the Titanic knows, it was advertised as an unsinkable ship that was the best of its class, but then on it maiden journey the unsinkable sink sank, leading to many questions
About a hundred years have passed since the British passenger liner met its fatal end in the North Atlantic on April 15, 1912. The RMS Titanic plummeted two miles to the ocean floor after clashing into an iceberg during its journey to the Port of New York. Over 1,500 people drowned in this unfortunate event. Ever since the sinking, numerous books and remarkable films have been made, telling the story of the ship and its passengers. The wreck of the ship was found in 1985 by the coast of Newfoundland, in the North Atlantic Ocean. Over the years, Titanic’s story has gained unbelievable public exposure and warns people about the danger of not being cautious enough. The Steamship, Titanic, was the end-result of fierce competition among competitor shipping lines in the early 1900s. The White Star Line company competed with Cunard, a British company with two ships that ranked in the categories for the most sophisticated and luxurious during their time. One of Cunard’s masterpieces, Lusitania, met its devastating end in 1915 when a torpedo was fired by a German U-boat and sunk the ship. The sinking killed about 1,200 out of 1,959 people on board and was the gateway to the United States’ entry into World War I. We chose this topic to write about because of the overwhelming impact that the event had on American history. The three categories on the Titanic are: the creation of the boat, passengers and luxury on board, and the night of the unfortunate tragedy.
The RMS Titanic; A Tragedy Based on Class. In April, 1912, the so called "unsinkable" Titanic set sail to New York. The great ship was as big as five city blocks, and weighed thousands and thousands of tons. Everyone who was everyone grabbed a room on the luxurious ship for the trip of a lifetime. On April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic struck an iceberg an sank into the icy depths of the North Atlantic.
The Titanic was never thought to sink as it was said to be unsinkable. The crew members, builders, and citizens that were on the ship were all under the influence that they were invincible to the world. When the Titanic was on its way to the destination the
In 1898 Mr. Robinson published a book called Futility. It was about a fictional ocean liner ship called Titan, that sank. A lot of controversy surrounds this book because of the similarities between it and the actual sinking of the RMS Titanic. What most people don’t know is that when this book was originally published some of the similarities were not the same. You see in 1898 when the book was published the weight of the ocean liner was listed as 45,000 tons, and following the sinking of the RMS Titanic when it was re-released it was changed to 70,000 tons which was 4,000 tones larger then Titanic. Another change was the horse power of the ship. Originally it was 40,000, and during the re-print it was changed to 75,000 while the titanic
Joseph Bruce Ismay, president of the ship building company White Star Line, along with Lord Pirrie, chairman of Harland & Wolff shipbuilders, joined together to begin the plans for the Titanic. Their goal was to give other Atlantic passenger boats some competition for business by building the largest ship to hit the water. The Titanic was completed in 1911, and it’s first voyage took place in 1912. Everyone was shocked
The Titanic set off on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York City carrying about 2,200 people on board but just after four days into its journey, the Titanic struck an iceberg and within three hours of its journey it plunged into the depth of the ocean killing over fifteen hundred passengers. Some researchers claim the legendary Titanic may have never sunk at all and was swapped with an identical vessel thus, being one of the biggest insurance scams in history. The real story begins in 1907 when American financier JP Morgan, ordered a new class of ships. The construction of a new class of super liners for his company white star line. The Olympic was the first ship created and looked identical to the Titanic. In 1911 the Olympic collided
Due to the historic and iconic nature of the topic, it is a popular origin for conspiracies. There is a lot of mystery surrounding the unforeseen sinking of the Titanic, which highlights the importance of the event. If the theory of the Olympic being switched with the Titanic was true, the descendants of the fifteen hundred passengers that died when the ship sunk may be particularly upset that their ancestors’ lives were put on the line because of greed. On top of this, the general public may also be upset over being lied to for over a century. On the other hand, if this theory is false, it is important for everyone to know the truth as this event was catastrophic and vital to history. Likewise, the theory paints the owner of these ships in a negative light, stating that they lied and risked thousands of lives to get a larger insurance payout, which would be unfair to the company
The Royal Mail Steamer Titanic was the product of intense competition among rival shipping lines in the first half of the 20th century. In particular, the White Star Line found itself in a battle for steamship primacy with Cunard, a venerable British firm with two standout ships that ranked among the most sophisticated and luxurious of their time. Cunard’s Mauretania began service in 1907 and immediately set a speed record for the fastest transatlantic crossing that it held for 22 years. Cunard’s other masterpiece, Lusitania, launched the same year and was lauded for its spectacular interiors. It met its tragic end–and entered the annals of world history–on May 7, 1915, when a torpedo fired by a German U-boat sunk the ship, killing nearly 1,200 of the 1,959 people on board and precipitating the United States’ entry into World War I.
