I decided to choose the Unified Science Center at Stockton for my project because it is easily accessible to me, it is fairly new and as a business major student, I found the building to be very impressive. We business majors don’t have a place to hang out or a quiet place to talk to people in our major. I normally just see people in the library or in the hallway and if we have to do schoolwork we just go to a computer lab. However, the Science and Math majors have a building full of labs and classrooms. In my opinion I felt like Stockton was trying to one-up the Arts building with another new building. The two buildings are similar in the way they both function. The Art building is a good place for the Art majors to get creative for their assignments and while these students are surrounded by artwork they could feel more of an impact from the atmosphere. The Science Center is a good place to apply what the Science students have learned in class and apply it in a laboratory.
Stockton University built this building to attract more science students. I think EYP did a great job designing the building. If you never entered the building before, you can just look at it from the outside and just tell that it is a building designed for Science majors. The building itself does not have many classrooms, but instead it has a lot of laboratories with state of the art equipment.
On the inside of the building it has a piece of artwork called the wave hanging from the second floor and
The University of Arkansas Fort Smith (UAFS) was established in 1928 as an extension of the public school system in Fort Smith, Arkansas. It was known originally as Fort Smith Junior College until 1950, and it initially only occupied 15 acres. Today, the UAFS campus has approximately thirteen buildings in which classes are held in. There are several buildings that are on campus that do not hold classrooms for learning such as the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center, the Boreham Library, the Business Center, the Recreation and Wellness Center (RAWC), and the Lion’s Den. There is a total of 66 campus buildings and facilities on and off campus, and there is 1.16 million building square feet maintained by UAFS (“Why UAFS”). Each building on campus illustrates something different; there are several buildings that are new to our campus also. One building that is not new to our campus, but certainly grabs the eye of many students by either a positive or negative way is the building Gardner. Gardner is one of the oldest buildings on the UAFS campus, but besides the unusual layout that can be an inconvenience at times, the building has history, character, and beauty that out ways the negative any day.
Casa San Ysidro is a nonprofit Albuquerque museum located in Corrales, New Mexico. Corrales is located on the western bank of the Rio Grande and is surrounded by the city of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and Bernalillo. The city offers visitors a glimpse into the past with its Spanish style architecture, art, New Mexican cuisine, beer, wine, and so much more. Casa San Ysidro is revered as one of Corrales’ treasures. The Corrales brochure found on the Visit Corrales website describes Casa San Ysidro as a “Word class Spanish Colonial collection of artifacts, including furnishings housed in a partially reconstructed 19th century home”. The Gutiérrez home as it was known then, was built in circa 1875 by descendants of Don Felipe Gutiérrez who were recipients
The current building is made up of simply domes. The new addition for cost reasons, will not be a dome. Benny Sprague, the school’s maintenance worker and bus driver stated, “I think many of the faculty members and students will like this better, mainly because the addition will have windows.”
When deciding on a place for my science trip, I knew the perfect place would be the Liberty Science Center, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. I went there often as a child, so I already knew that there was a great deal to learn there. What I didn?t realize was how much it had been updated since I was there last. There are so many advances going on in science and technology, it?s all so amazing. What surprised me most, is that even at age 19, I still had as much fun there as I did when I was 9.
“It makes sense to build in a building that we purchased,” Tamez told Nwanze. She encouraged students to submit their ideas as a
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, home to nearly 300,000 Americans. Pittsburgh is the world’s steel and glass capital, ketchup, and the world’s first radio broadcasting station. This city also holds one of the greatest science centers in the United States. This center is known as the Carnegie Science Center. This science center is home to two different science centers that came together as one. It has a very vast history and importance to its region. Its ability to attract families and people all of ages have made it so popular. This science center did not start off as just a science center. This center was created by Andrew Carnegie, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who had a big plan.
Explanation: This additional allotment of supply money is for the Science Department at BCC. During a recent High School that Works Building Evaluation, it was noted that the Science Department was lacking in supplies and equipment which corresponded to a lack of lab opportunities in the classroom. This money along with additional equipment funding seek to remedy this issue..
Stepping foot onto campus does not immediately dispel any of the preconceived notions one may reasonably have after a few Google searches. The facade does not crack so easily. Reportedly designed by a prison architect—complete with a watchtower cleverly repurposed to house a large clock—the school is made up of a dozen or so small, one-story buildings of approximately six classrooms each. Large,
The Central Valley consist of three major counties Modesto, Fresno and Bakersfield. Together these three counties produce a little over half of the nation’s produce. With a population of over 6.5 million people the Central Valley is also consider by Public Policy Institute of California the fastest growing region of California. With the ever growing population and growing need for more agriculture that leads to a larger air quality issue. This paper will discuss the sources, factors, roles, issues of the Central Valley’s air pollution as well as some possibilities of how the community can help.
My high school career is coming to an end but Science Park really represented what the city of Newark is all about. It disconnected us from the negative images that are associated with the city and helped us grow as individuals. Being put into classes with people from different
OS X El Capitan 10.11, will be the newest operating system of Mac computers worldwide. It will succeed Yosemite, which was released last June 2014. If you're wondering where Apple got the name from, it's from a towering 3,000-foot granite monolith at the Yosemite National Park (see the pattern?)
The environment in the student section shows how much they appreciate their school and it also shows the pride that they have. That really says something positive about the atmosphere of a school.
Upon approaching the Oakland Museum of California, it is a slightly larger building than the surroundings, that take the entire block. The futuristic design, with vertical and horizontal metal or cement walls, would make it stand out from the surroundings; but with about more than fifty percent of the exterior covered with tall trees, the building blends in well with other structure around it. The entrance lobby has a wide downward staircase, which surprising since I thought that most of the museum is on a flatter surface. I notice couple students, a middle age lady, some elders, and some guys around twenty to thirty years old. It was a hot afternoon, but it was a cool and calm atmosphere inside the museum. Inside the art gallery room of the
The one aspect of the Center that is the most valuable is how diverse it is. It was created with all students in mind. It offers different programs for students of all majors. The building is
HA will not be the GC on this deal. We will up-date the pre-flight accordingly. The potential GC's are Devcon Construction Inc, RD Olson; Swinerton Builders, Reisner Construction. The Bank is not familiar with any of these contractors, except for RD Olson. Related is going to use RD Olson on our Fullerton project, closing early May. This is Related first time they use them, but RD is an experienced GC. Once the GC is selected and we win this deal, RM will update the
