1.3 Problem Identified
Flash Mob is the activity that conducted by the community which assemble in public area and make a unique and attractive movement. But, in fact Flash Mob could lead curiosity of a people. We have been introducing with modern social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
Flash mobs use viral marketing techniques or simply word Flash Mobs use social media and technology to aid the viral process, where viral marketing would involve an effort to spread an idea, knowledge and information by encouraging people to pass on the message that companies or organization want to spread. Social media such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube become tools in spreading the initial plan for a flash mob.
There is an aspect of Flash Mob that makes it productive as a promotional tool. If we are looking at the number of participant and also the number of the viewer of Flash Mob, it can conclude that Flash Mob as promotional tools was success to encourage people. Based on description above, it attracts my curiosity in studying how does Flash Mob and Viral Marketing play a role as a promotion tool.

The pace and creativity of some promotional activities are almost alien to normal business activities.The cost associated with promotion or advertising goods and services often represents a size-able proportion of the overall cost of producing an item. However, successful promotion increases sales so that advertising and other costs are spread over a larger output. Though increased promotional activity is often a sign of a response to a problem such as competitive activity, it enables an organization to develop and build up a succession of messages and can be extremely cost-effective.

Viral marketing and viral advertising refer to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness. It can be word-of-mouth delivered or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet.
For example T.V, the net, text messages and emails have all provided new and effective ways of marketing internationally and at a cheap price. This means that communication possibilities and user interaction between promotional campaigns is much easier.
Key point of this viral marketing is the use of customization and personalized engagement of the audience. Personalization: to suit target audience well because it will be specific made for our own interest, needs, and wants.
A Promotion mix is to gain awareness of target segment on the existence of a product or services and the benefits it confers to customers. The tools of promotion in a company are advertising, personal selling, public relations, marketing and online promotion. For the Apple Company to realize this strategy it has to train their staff to a high level of promotion. Personal selling is a form of promotion relevant to the Apple computers company and to the retailers authorized. The staff gets training on the knowledge of the product with a great focus on the sales of Apple computers. The people doing sales are in the best position to provide an immediate effect on the promotion of Apple computers (Nijs et al, 2001).. The Apple Company uses a range of media advertising to promote the Apple computers. The internet, prints and alternative media like billboards are among the channels for the advertisement of the computers. Advertisement is a very important tool for the company to gain new clients and sales.
Social media is today widely integrated into dynamic computing and servicer architecture. In fact, social media can do so much more today than some years ago. With Twitter or Facebook it is possible to use networking and information sharing techniques to build high quality links and increase PR of a target site. In fact, social media marketing integration is so ingrained into the 21st century system it has become part of the entire cultural process in fact, as some authors state, it is part of the market creation process. Social media is a relatively new term that includes web and mobile based technologies that allow communication to be more of an interactive dialog between individuals, communities, and organizations. It is a way that technology is used to enhance communications and enable different sorts of cultures and groups to interact.
Promotion is one of the most important step that must be done in order to have a successful product or service. Promotion can definite as the channel that used to communicate with the target market or potential consumer. Without promotion, there are no one is going to purchase the product or service because the consumers are unable to aware on the product or service.
