For this assignment, I selected a property located in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Built in 1996, this one-story building is used for commercial purposes for a rental and cleaning company, and it combines the functions of an office and a storage-warehouse. The types of office activities carried out in the building include organizing and scheduling deliveries and pickups, preparing reports, ordering supplies, answering the phones and communication with customers. The storage-warehouse operations include organizing the cleaning supplies and rental products and

With the recent development of cottages, the rental business is starting to become more competitive due to baby boomers. The location of any cottage is a key factor to make it stand out from the rest. In Grand Bend, waterfront cottages have limited frontage space due to the large erosion which affects the cottage size (Creces, 2009). As waterfront cottages are more desirable, they can cost up to three times the amount of a second-row cottage. Although, the coastline is the property of the municipality which results in waterfront properties do not own the beach. This means that all second-row cottages have access to the entire coastline of Grand Bend. With larger building sizes and limited restriction, second-row cottages are three times the size of waterfront cottages are becoming more appealing to larger families and groups as these cottages can have upwards of six bedrooms. This trend is starting to become clearer throughout Ontario as waterfront real estate is costly and have many building restrictions.

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum publically showcases Mrs. Gardner's collection in the greater Boston area. Each room functions as a chapter of a pilgrimage. When one travels through various countries and time periods, one inevitably ends up in a gallery built in the imitation of a chapel, and subsequently the Gothic room. In this paper, I will examine the Gothic room's theme in relation to the placement of its objects. I will also evaluate the room's strengths and challenges in serving the public, and how the conventions employed in this room contribute to the general accessibility of the museum.
The bungalow design was influenced by a variety of social and economic trends that expanded the middle class and became a powerful means of transformation in American society. Arts and Crafts promoters associated the bungalow design with creative manual work, independence, and a way to return to manhood of common work practices. The bungalow
Russel Wright is an American industrial designer and architect that lived during the early to mid twentieth century. Many of Wright’s ideas and designs were considered to modern at time, drawing influences from not only ingenious designers like Frank Lloyd Wright but nature as well. Wright’s influences would lead him to create a design style unlike any at the time; a style that would eventually become almost standard in many homes in the United States. The designer Russel Wright and his wife, Mary Wright together published a guidebook known as Guide to Easier Living. In it contains numerous suggestions and thoughts on home architecture, interior design, as well as product design. Many of the thoughts and suggestions conveyed in the book can be seen in present-day design and architecture. Wright’s book also laid the groundwork for his home, Dragon Rock, which of itself possesses elements of design that are seen in today’s homes. Russel Wright’s Guide to Easier Living is clearly a response to interior design at the time; containing numerous design ideas, Wrights guide influences Wright’s own future works.
The three different types of color presented in various works in chapter 6 were local, perceptual, and arbitrary. Local color is the easiest to understand as it is the typical color of items that we see when pictured in our head. According to Sayre, “it is the color we “know” an object to be, the way we know a banana is yellow.” (Sayre, 126) A good artist’s example is Jane Hammond’s Fallen, which exhibits a stereotypical fall scene with a twist.
So, with the market softening, it became obvious that your condominium project could be in big trouble. To gain an advantage over this competitor, you had to finish up your condominium project well ahead of your rival's, and differentiate the Viking condominium complex as a more appealing living environment. You knew from local industry gossip that the rival was building his units as cheaply as possible and taking quality short cuts to keep his profits high. In response, you have been striving for a quality image for your own complex in order to differentiate your condominiums
The publisher used several techniques to promote this advertisement and make it appealing to the audience. The use of black and white color is to make the suite look classy, therefore, the audience will get a feeling of elegance. The image gives the viewer a “you’re not luxurious or rich enough to buy a home in this condominium” type of mood so it would be distinguished as common fears.
To begin, this book has a charming paperback cover which lures many readers. The front is a stunning illustration of a mansion among the mountains from the "Pied Piper". On the other hand, the back of the book is a rich golden color and gives readers information on the numerous authors whose contributions have made this publication. The overall design has been intelligently thought out by Bill Womack Incorporated, a strategic boutique design company.
I will be analyzing two advertisements, stating how effective they are likely to be in achieving their purpose and in selling a renter’s paradise. In my analysis I will include a list of persuasive techniques used in these advertisements. Undoubtedly, the purpose of an advertisement is a strong appeal to the readers. The purpose of the first advertisement; The Grove, apartments is to persuade the audience to experience the pleasurable and joys of living. It strongly reinforces the views through the content of the text and captures the interest of the audiences through multiple eye-catching pictures. When the reader first looks at the advertisement, it makes him or her feel how entertained and amusing this place can be in spite of the all
