The War of 1812 was a war between Britain and the United States fought primarily in Upper Canada. It had many causes, few which involved British North America. The results of the war include the fact that there was no clear winner or loser among them. The only real losers in the situation were the Natives in the region. They were driven out of their lands and customs. None of the borders was changed by the war, though many attempts were made. The Treaty of Ghent, which ended the war, did nothing to advance the state of the countries. The War of 1812 was started by America due to British encroachment on three fronts, trade restrictions imposed by the British, the increasing alliances of the British with Indian tribes blocking American expansion West, and due to British interference with merchant class ships in the Atlantic. The war was fought in the Great Lakes region between America and Canada, near New Orleans in the Gulf of Mexico, in the Atlantic trade routes, and around Washington DC. The British had always considered the American insurrection in the 1770s to be a temporary event, their continued battles within the European continent as well as the rest of the British empire had proven to be too distracting to keep a solid check on North America. The British also had not anticipated a war in North America in the lead up to the war of 1812 due to the fragility of the American states, leading to the hubris Britain retained in its relations with the young United States of America.

The War of 1812 was caused by the many conflicts with Great Britain and France. Even though the United States had made many efforts to stay out of the Napoleonic Wars, the conflict was not avoided. The United States had three primary reasons for declaring war: impressments and violations of trading rights, Indian conflicts, and a desire for western territory.

Intro From being a well-known war hero in the War of 1812 to becoming the 7th president of the United States, Andrew Jackson lived a marvelous life. His past life may have affected him greatly, but it never stopped him from moving to one role to another. Furthermore, not only was he president, but he was also a major general in the army and has been very victorious and successful in leading his troops. Jackson had gone through great lengths to obtain his position and popularity as president. He was the first self-made man, who started from very low points in his life, who became president. In addition, he was well known for his casual temper tantrums and his short temperedness, though he was also known for representing the rights of the common man. If he had conflicts with certain groups, he would deliberately declare war on them with no second thoughts. Furthermore, he is the kind of man who would not deal with these conflicts so he would turn to violence. Because yes, violence is the answer to all problems. Andrew Jackson is a unique kind of fellow to learn about, and most people would only know him as a tough man who always leads things to violence. Some may have not known the many difficult obstacles that Andrew has faced in his life in which he had to surpass in order to have gone so far and be very successful. Also, all the things he has done has gained him a guaranteed spot for a guy to remember!

Jefferson and the Republican vision slashed spending and government all around, leaving the military depleted and operating on Jefferson 's “Gun Boat Diplomacy,” which meant America had just enough boats to protect American coasts but not enough to partake in any offshore activities. This left America vulnerable to the tactics employed by the British when combat resumed between England and France, and the US was involuntarily pulled into the dispute.

The word e “antebellum,” means before the war, and “reform,” means the improvement of what is wrong. The Antebellum period made transportation more efficient for people who traveled. The Transportation Revolution provided several new, reliable, safe and cost-effective ways to travel to different parts of the nation, including new land in the west. The transportation Revolution changed America by new types of transportation, economic growth, expansion, and factory system growth.

Captivated by the American Heroes who had achieved glorious victories over the British during the War of 1812; American settlers began to venture out into the Western Frontier. By the end of the 1830’s, for the first time Americans were able to measure the speed of travel and communication in days rather than weeks. They were able to earn wages in factories, rather than barter their crops for the necessities at the mercy of the market and the weather. While these changes were seen as the dawning of a new era of peace and prosperity for some, others saw them as an apocalyptic warning of the beginning of the end. Radical Reform groups such as Abolitionism that sprung up during the Second Great Awakening ignited a holy war over the question of slavery, a disease which had by the end of the War of 1812 taken root in every facet of American life.

United States of America fought the long and difficult War of 1812 against the superpower Great Britain. Madison waged war on the Britain 's because of the U.S ships were getting bored and impressed to fight for Britain. The U.S couldn 't stand for this so we decide to take on Great Britain. In the end the United States came on top, they destroyed the greatest superpower in the world and the U.S could proudly keep their heads raised high. While The US lost the White house and Capitol building during a fire, The war of 1812 was building block of the US becoming a nation.

On June 16th of that year, President James Madison declared the start of a war that would greatly impact the future of our country. Britain, still one of the world's greatest superpowers, was currently warring with France at the time of the declaration, however, Britain's reputation as a formidable opponent stood strong. The War of 1812 held a great significance in the history of America: Reasonable purposes for conflict, major conflict with Native Americans, great controversy among its supporters and opposers, numerous honorable battles, the inclusion of African Americans in the war, a memorable conclusion, and notable results.

Canada and the Second Boer War Introduction: The Second Boer War was a hard fought battle between the British and the Boers, descendants of Dutch immigrants who had settled in Africa. Though the Boers weren’t expected to survive against the greatest power in the world, pro-empire Canadian citizens still urge the Canadian government to participate to show loyalty towards Great Britain. The complex origins of the war was a combination of over a 100 years worth of conflict and fighting over control over wealth. The result of the war showed that superpowers such as Great Britain could be defeated but for the Canadians, it showed that Canada was not simply a colony but an international power.
