Essentially in America today, we don 't sweat the small things, such as a person killed another person. We freak out over the fact that the person used a gun to kill the other person. In reality when someone has the intent to kill it does not matter what they use. It could be as common as a pen. In America we are trying to set up laws to take guns away.
