Hi Everyone,
As I went over the results of my VARK assessment, I must agree with the results, my strongest learning strategy is aural. Listening, discussing, talking and recalling. Upon starting my education here at GSC, I prefer face to face classes, taking online classes only when a face to face class was not available. I had discussed my learning experiences with my academic coach and we agreed that I performed better with most classes in the face to face classroom, talking, discussing and questioning. The feel of the classroom the sounds and hearing the discussions are beneficial to me.
My supervisor agrees that when new software is introduced to our workplace, we have discussed how faster I am able to learn a new software program, through
My preferred learning style is auditory. I can use mnemonic devices, such as flash cards with audio to my advantage in school. The repetition of the flash cards would help me in science where there is lots of information to remember. Reading the information, text, stories, assignments, out loud would help me to fully understand the context. I can also read my drafting work out loud, so that it is less likely to miss any errors. During class, I can ask my teacher more questions or to explain certain concepts.

Obtaining a career focus is valuable in any college student’s lifetime; therefore, it would be profitable to meet with a career counselor to discuss occupational goals and interests. Moreover, involvement with the Focus 2 assessment is another contributing factor used to guide the career decision making process. The Focus 2 is comprised of five simple tests that will analyze compatible careers for the individual taking the assessment. Mr. Richard Glass, the career counselor that agreed to meet with me, believes that the work interests assessment produces the most promising results. For instance, my work interests fall under the social, artistic, and investigative categories. Through computerized analysis, I was given a list of occupations that would agree with the data received. The content of this paper will evaluate the results of the Focus 2 assessment, in addition to the major points discussed by Mr. Glass. Come the end of this paper, the reader will gain a better understanding of my work
The reliability of an assessment in a perfect situation should produce the same results if marked by another tutor or if that examiner unknowingly receives the same paper again. If different marks are given the assessment is consequently unreliable and proves that this assessment is subjective.
The service user has various assessments of need undertaken, this allows practioners to create plans and to regularly review the plans put in place for children and young people. Watson and West (2006), argue that good social work practice is good quality assessment, assessments inform evaluations and judgements. Assessment is about critically analysing information from a range of sources to determine need, eligibility and risk. Assessments involve a collaborative process; ensuring people participate and take as much control as possible in identifying their own needs. From the social work point of view, all professional judgments should be balanced and substantiated. Moreover, a perspective that sees the 'whole system' and the interconnected
I Really had a hard time trying to understand the process of using my learning patterns but with guidance from my instructor and peers I definitely have a clear understanding of what I need to do to not only succeed in a class but to receive information and use it accordingly. At first, I really thought of this class as somewhat of a tutorial and after going through the entire process I now know that it is in fact a tutorial. A tutorial that will help me process information in different ways for fit a situation. I really wish, however, there was a skype type class setup so that I could see emotion with the information being shared amongst peers and the
