The most popular practice performed in almost every religion is prayer and or meditation. Prayer and meditation allow followers to come together and praise a God or gods. You would love the deity not in the Christian God-like sense, but as you would love a friend, parent, or a child, Christians do not practice yoga as a form of prayer or meditation, but rather gather weekly to meet for worship in commemoration of the Lord Jesus’ resurrection. They rejoice and reflect on the life and teachings of Jesus. Prayer is a form of meditation for Christians because it requires observance and concentration. When we pray to God we are observing his power and concentrate on what it is we wish to reflect on. Christians pray to God to repent on certain acts that are sinful, by asking God for forgiveness one will be saved and given eternal life.
Hindus believe for everything you do wrong you will be punished. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, if not in this life, then the next. The yoga discipline allows, through pure acts, thoughts and devotion, one can be reborn at a higher level. Christians, on the other hand do not believe in rebirth, but rather eternal happiness in the afterlife. Our afterlife being heaven or hell. Both religions have very distinct beliefs and are extremely opposite but their idea for prayer and meditation is similar. Both religions use the daily ritual of prayer and or meditation as an act of reflection and a process for reaching the ultimate goal of an ideal
Yoga is a practice for union. When yoga is being practiced the participant becomes relaxed and tries to achieve a higher state of mind.(Fisher 80) There are different types of yoga that help achieve different states of mind. Raja yoga is the path to mental concentration and is used by meditative people. Jnana yoga is the path to rational inquiry which is done by rational people, and for naturally active people there is karma yoga which is the path of right action. “Yoga is known as the disconnection of the connection with suffering.” –The Bhagavad Gita (hinduwisdom.info) Hinduism also has a series of gods and goddess who Hindu’s pray to and worship. This element leads to one particularly significant contrast between the two faiths. Sikhism’s beliefs, validated through the teachings of Gurus, that God was neither born, nor can He die also believe that God has not taken a human form (“Sikhism: Beliefs and Principles of Sikhism”, n.d.). Christianity’s beliefs differ somewhat due to scriptures which recognize Jesus came to Earth as God manifested (John 10:30). In both religions, meditation and prayer are viewed as essential and the means by with believer’s commune with God. Christianity, who’s scriptural based teachings instructs its followers that “There is one God, and there is one mediator between God and Men” believe that the teachings of Jesus serve as inspired teachings from God
Religion is universal. Although people may have different ideologies and practices, everyone believes in something, whether they deem it their religion or not. In this way, religion is a powerful connection between all of humanity; thus, it is important to understand the people behind religion and how their unique characteristics correlates with and influences religion—whether that be their social class, ethnicity, gender, or politics. However, ethnicity and gender, along with the closely linked topics of sexuality and politics, are the most significant concepts to understand religion in our modern world.

Though each religion is unique, some religions have several traits in common. For example, many religions are polytheistic, meaning that there are many gods. But, some religions only believe in one god, meaning that the religion is monotheistic. The religions also have many things that differ with each other, like the sacred text, symbol, and traditions. These qualities are what make each religion different and special.
Hindus worship everything around them. Hinduism is monotheistic, yet is thought to be polytheistic for the preceding reasons. The premise surrounding this belief is that the “Supreme Being” found in so many forms. Not placing limited parameters on the “Supreme Being”, as other religions are known to, is yet another modern appeal to Hinduism.
Hinduism believes in the reincarnation or rebirth of souls. They believe that souls are eternal and divine and that death is only temporary.
There are many religion in the world and according to heir religious beliefs, different people have different spiritual beliefs and some of those beliefs are similar and some are completely different, such as , Christian and muslims belief that there is only one god. By contrast, Hindus belief that there are thousands of god and goddesses and each god has unique values and way of worshiping . Hinduism and Buddhism have different similarities and are in some ways connected to each other. Some of the practices of the two religions are similar in various ways and there are several examples to show this.
Furthermore of all the dissimilarities in meditation, Hinduism and Buddhism have many things in common too. In Hinduism and Buddhism the aim of this ritual is to follow the path towards nirvana or moksha, which are the liberation from the eternal life cycle. As both religions have almost the same purposes for practicing meditation, the way in which it is done is very related: the meditator is concentrating to free their mind for desire and to enter into a peaceful state, in the meantime the person must be reciting mantras, chants, or in the case of Buddhism, the three jewels. In brief, meditation allows people to feel more connected with their community, and to identify themselves as a member of each religion.
In Hinduism there are many gods, deities or beliefs. Hindus don’t worship or believe in just one god or deities, they can worship many at a time. They worship Brahma, the Creator; Vishnu, the Preserver and Shiva, the Destroyer. These are their main gods of worship but not only these gods, they also worship deities. Rama, Krishna, and Kali are considered as one of the most popular deities in Hinduism. There are plenty more deities or gods, and each have an interesting and beautiful meaning or significance. Many Hindus worship many gods or deities and don’t see anything wrong with it, because they believe that there are "many paths to moksha" that is liberation. Hinduism might be one of the few religions, if not the only religion, that worship more than one god. Judaism on the other hand, worship or believe in only one god. The Jews god only want them to worship him, he is a jealous god. Their god chose them has his people, nation and his children. He saw something in them, that he didn’t see in any other nation. As we read above, he saved, supplied, protected them in many occasions and yet his "children" failed him time and time again. While he was disappointed, he never gave up on them, but he did want something in return. In return he wanted a close relationship with each and everyone of them. He wanted them to obey him and also get to know who he was. He also states many times, that he wants them to only worship him, no other gods. Jews only pray, worship and believe in only one god, they believe there is only one way to liberation and that is through one god. Hindus as we read believe in many ways to liberation, there isn't just one way for
Hinduism is an Indian phenomena, it is difficult to define, and difficult for the outsiders to understand some of the unusual religious, philosophical and cultural beliefs. It is according to Huston Smith, the…” least dogmatic and most diverse of all religions…” because of the belief that there is a ‘flowing though’ cycle where in samsara ones is born, lives, suffers, dies and is re-born over and over until the ‘moksha’ occurs. This spiritual liberation is achieved by yoking oneself to God then one may reach Atman: the real self that is separate from the physical body. It is unchanging, eternal and a sign of the soul and spread throughout all the parts of and in the earth. This is the God that cannot be understood or always known yet Hindus are encouraged to relate to the God they know best.
Both of the religions Hinduism and Judaism are similar but different in their own ways. Hinduism worships many gods and goddesses, whereas Judaism is a confirmedly monotheistic religion. In the Hinduism religion the bedrock is the belief that the Vedas is sacred and the caste system decribed in it. “Hinduism is a guide to life, and the goal of which is to reach union with Brahman, the unchanging ultimate reality”(75). The dharma or moral law that need to be followed. There are many gods that were worshiped and each person may worship a different god. Images of the gods in homes or temples were presented where each person can show devotion to their personal gods by singing hymns or offering flowers before the images. The Hindus believe in many things such as that the universe undergoes and endless cycle of creation, believe in karma, that the soul reincarnates, the belief that all life is sacred.
Both originate in Asia. Both are religions that have been around for centuries. Both have millions of followers. Hinduism and Buddhism are two religions that share many concepts such as that of reincarnation and nirvana, but they also differ in many ways such as how they see themselves on this plane, and how they reach nirvana. Reincarnation is a concept that is believed by both Buddhists and Hindus.
The world has many different belief systems including Christianity and Buddhism. Both are similar and different in many ways. These religions are used in different places around the world and influenced the lives of its followers and the society in which they are practiced. Christianity is more diverse and complicated in its beliefs and totally depends on faith. In contrast, Hinduism is a belief more based on the simplicity of culture and tradition.
