There are many committees at Vinoy Place, some which are active while others are not, including: landscaping, insurance, buildings, government liaison, social, risk management, and investment/finance. The committees meet as needed and work well in conjunction with the board and management. Per the manager, she attends the committee meeting and follows up. The insurance committee meets once per year in May with the insurance agent before most of the insurance policies renew. The landscape committee walks the grounds once or twice per year. The building committee walks every inch of common property once per year and issues a detailed report and all of the items are corrected. The Risk Management Committee meets periodically depending on the
SUMMARY OF THE FACTS: An officer from the Vista Lago Police Department pulled over a pickup truck belonging to Mrs. Atwater. The reason for the stop was because the officer witnessed Mrs. Atwater to be conducting her vehicle without her seatbelt on. 1. My understanding in the differences between Teamsterville and Nacirema, is that the Teamsterville is considered to be a culture’s ethnic background or geographical location within a culture that has it own communication style and dialects, however Nacirema is defined by its speech practices and not by it’s geographical boundaries or ethnic background.
1. Using symbolic interaction theory as your guide, explain how the terms “aliens” and “illegals” helped shape public opinion/attitudes in Farmingville towards Latino day laborers. What do these words mean? How did these definitions influence perceptions and behaviors?
Alien in one definition is: “Too different from something to be acceptable or suitable,” and Illegal in one definition is “Not allowed by the law.” (Mirriam-Webster Dictionary) The words ‘Alien’ and ‘Illegal’ have inherent negative connotations. A person does not need to know the intimate or factual circumstances associated with those words to understand their symbolism. When those words are used to label the social group of undocumented Latino day laborers the inherent reaction is to see them in a negative way. The individuals become a stigmatized group. The people against undocumented immigrants in Farmingville saw the Latinos through the lens of the stigmatized group “illegal aliens.” They thus became

It has come to my attention that issues have arisen at our Roanoke branch. In the past several months, we have had an Art Director and an Account Executive resign from the company, along with a threat of three Graphic Designers and four Copywriters following suit. As I understand, the moral of the Roanoke employees has significantly decreased recently due to having to work overtime with little, or no notice, and without any compensation. There are also reports of management rejecting or reworking creative efforts of the Roanoke staff without feedback or consultation, which has contributed to the decrease in moral of the employees. These issues appear to have affected the service to the clients of that branch, which is evident from the complaints

Binghampton, Memphis is a community that started as an independent and racially integrated rural Memphis town in the late 19th centuries. Fifteen years ago a woman by the name of Onie Jones opened a community center called Caritas Village. Caritas Village plays a big role as a culture group in the Binghampton community.
