Find a safe spot to pull over. If you're on the freeway, taking the next exit is the safest bet, even if you have to drive on a blown tire. Otherwise, pull as far onto the shoulder as possible. Don't park in the middle of a curve where approaching cars can't see you. Also, choose a flat spot; jacking up your car on a hill can be a disaster
2. Turn on your hazard lights. Get the jack, wrench, and spare tire from the trunk of the car and bring them over to the tire that is flat.
3. Use the wrench to loosen the lug nuts. You may need to remove the hubcap. Don't remove the lug nuts at this point; simply loosen them by turning the wrench to the left (counter-clockwise).
4. Use the jack to lift the vehicle off the ground. Different car models may have different places to put the jack; consult your owner's manual for specific locations. Once the jack is securely in the correct spot, jack up the car until the tire is about 6 inches off the ground.
5. Remove the lug nuts and pull the tire off the car. Make sure to place the lug nuts together, and pull the tire straight toward you to remove it from the wheel base.
6. Place the spare on the car. Line up the lug nut posts with the holes in the spare, and push the spare all the way onto the wheel base until it can't go any

When putting the tire on is an effective idea to install the bottom lug nut first, since it will help keep the tire in the right position to install the other lug nuts with ease. As a rule, starting the lug nuts by hand and turning them three or more threads will prevent stripping out the threads. Next, you will use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts little past finger tight. After all the lug nuts are snug, then the car can be lowered so the tire begins to touch the ground. Straight off the lug nuts can get their final torque and should be done so in a star or a criss-cross pattern. Afterward, the car can be lowered and the tools can be put away. By the way, it’s always a beneficial idea to check the lug nuts after traveling about ten miles to assure they are still

5. Look under the car to find your oil reservoir, use the socket wrench to remove the nut. Before you do this, you should have an oil pan ready to keep the dirty oil. After you unscrew the nut, you should see a stream of motor oil draining out of the oil tank. Allow this process to occur for 5-10 minutes and make sure the oil is going into the oil pan. This is the most annoying part of the entire procedure because sometimes things can get messy. Also look for the oil filter and twist in open. We are going to replace it with a new one in our next step.
