Socialism—just as in communism, there is no private ownership. This type of system is a redistribution of wealth.
Tyranny—A form of government with a single ruler with absolute power.
After reviewing the types of governments how can one decide, which is truly the best to govern by and to convince everyone to live by? In my view, there is only one. To fully understand we must travel back in time to November 11th, 1620. This is the date of the signing of the Mayflower Compact. “....do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and one of another, Covenant and Combine ourselves together in a Civil Body Politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal Laws, Ordinances, Acts, Constitutions and Offices from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the Colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.” These men understood the importance having to get together and work out the problems facing the Colony. They had broken away from the Church of England and want to be free to do what they wanted, practice religion the way they want, but yet understood they needed to have boundaries and laws to live by. As our Country

According to Marx and the Communist Manifesto, history is the rich battling with the poor, also history has always been a history of class struggle. The Communist Manifesto calls for equality among all classes, therefore there would be no classes. Workers are paid different salaries according to the quality and the training of their work. "Society as a whole is more and more splitting up into two great hostile camps, into two great classes, directly facing each other: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat."[iii] As Marx’s states here, he feels that society is splitting more and more in to classes, which is feels is wrong. He thinks that society should be one and everyone should belong to one class. Marx did not deny the close connection between personal freedom and property rights. "In this sense, the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property."[iv] Marx thought that the role of every individual was for everyone to be a worker and to make an equal amount of money as everyone else. Marx even stated that having a capitalist society would therefore make that society fall, all because of the ongoing struggle between the rich and the poor. The Communist Manifesto states that communism would change a person’s role in life from being decided on the basis
Throughout the time of recorded history, humans have had the natural desire for protection and order. That desire is where government comes in. There have been many forms of government throughout history, according to Aristotle, there have only been two types, oligarchies and democracies. Aristotle goes on to say that there are variations of these governments; for example, an aristocracy is considered to be an oligarchy where the wealthy land owners make the decisions in government. Later in that same paragraph, he states that a republic is a form of democracy; these are not the only variations of democracies and oligarchies as there are many variations of these two types of government along the spectrum (Aristotle 3). Societies all through history have one thing in common, they all had some form of government; This raises the question though, what is the difference between a good and bad government?
The type of government that will fit on my island would be democracy, because it is a system of the whole population of the state. I chose democracy because I would want my island to have laws similar to the ones of the United States. The reason why I didn't choose autocracy or oligarchy is because autocracy is a system of one government which means one person makes laws and has all the power to control how things work on the island. Oligarchy is a system in which the groups are small and have little little ideas for the island. The island will need large groups with leaders that will be in charge of certain things on the island this is why I think having democracy is better than the other two. You will have more groups to help you organize
Communism is described as the idea, of karl marx, supporting class war, leading to a community, in which all estate is owned by the public, also each individual is paid by their skill and qualification to work, according to their needs (Merriam-Webster, 2017). Life in Communist Cuba spoken from
Government is an administration defined by the Constitution, but is also a constantly adjusting foundation by the efforts of its citizens. By Litherland (2014), government is defined as policies set in order to lead a body of people (p. 395). Over the span of time, the idea of government has been stretched, changed, and applied to various communities throughout both the nation and the world. Whether it was back in the eighteenth century, current, or in the very near future—government has existed and will continue to exist for its people and the nation it has built its foundation upon. With the use of multiple authors, those of: “Difference between Direct and Representative Democracy” (n.d.), “Federalism - Dividing Power between States and the
Other forms of government is Anarchy (everyone or no one) , Monarchy and Dictatorship ( ruled by one, king or queen). Two forms of government is Dictatorship and Democracy. We have direct democracy where individuals vote directly. Dictatorship is the ruling of one. Although there are different sorts of dictatorship, we have communism which is the government structure that only meets the basic needs of its population. The Monarchy dictatorship is the subcategory, where the people in power have the power by birth right and are inherited. These two types of government are totally opposite of each other and they both have their advantages and
Each type of government holds different views as to the role the leaders and citizens should perform in their country .Different types of government include, oligarchy where the government is run by the best leaders, Tyranny, where they believe those in power should have complete control over its people. In the United States of America, we believe in democracy, rule by the majority. The main problem with our type of government is maintaining it. Our government and its citizens have lost sight of their roles and responsibilities, in government.
The best government is a Republic government. A Republic government is also known as a direct democracy. It is very effective and works smoothly. The people are big part of the government, because they vote on a leader to represent them and make decisions for them. This way of democracy is amazing because of how the people are such a big part of it. Another interesting fact is that the first Republic was the Roman Republic. The Roman Republic was an impressive system that lasted for 500 years. It was impressive because it had three branches, the Magistrates, the Senate, and the Assemblies and Tribunes. The Magistrates were elected officials who enforced laws and judged cases. The Senate are wealthy citizens who helped pass laws and controlled
Throughout history, there have been many distinct societies that have each had a different type of government. Those various forms of government have been accompanied by personalization. No single society in the course of human history has ever looked or acted the same since each particular civilization has its own demands, obligations and disputes. Therefore, every community will have its own unique way of governing their general public. Both Plato’s The Republic and Jean-Jacque Rousseau’s The Social Contract discuss the topics of government, different forms of government and the type of government they prefer most.
Erik Wright, Dennis Gilbert and Joseph Kahl sociologist, have identified social classes within societies and created different models for it. Wright has followed along the lines of Karl Marx’s model and has modified it naming four different classes: “capitalists, petty bourgeoisie, managers, and workers”. (Www3.ncc.edu, 2017) Gilbert and Kahl’s model has six classes: “the capitalist class, the upper middle class, the lower middle class, the working class, the working poor, and the underclass”. (Www3.ncc.edu, 2017) If individuals lived in a society that was considered a classless society individuals would be living in a communist society this is why society requires different social classes. Communism is not an ideal society and prevents individuals from doing what they desire. While researching tribal and nomadic societies it would seem that these societies are ideal. The individuals who live within them all share the same “economic roles” (Newworldencyclopedia.org, 2017) and this can be considered ideal. However, communism restricts individuals from ever becoming more than what is told of them. While looking at Wright, Gilbert and Kahl’s models of social class and having an ideal society, Gilbert and Kahl’s model gives room for individuals at all class levels to play a part in society. These individuals are not set into a certain class and are free to rise to a higher class.
Many different forms of government have existed throughout civilization. Theocracy, dictatorships, democracy, and many others have all had periods of time where they reigned as the government of choice. Arguments could be made in favor of each form of government. The key to finding the most viable form of government is to consider this: which form of government provides the most stability for the state?
Throughout history different types of instrumental regimes have been in tact so civilizations remained structured and cohesive. As humanity advanced, governments obligingly followed. Although there have been hiccups from the ancient times to modern day, one type of government, democracy, has proven to be the most effective and adaptive. As quoted by Winston Churchill, democracy is the best form of government that has existed. This is true because the heart of democracy is reliant, dependent, and thrives on the populaces desires; which gives them the ability for maintaining the right to choose, over time it adjusts and fixes itself to engulf the prominent troubling issues, and people have the right of electing the person they
Democratic Government – this is the government for the poor and needy and not a government for common good. This to Aristotle is the best form of government but it can degenerate into demagogue and anarchy
Government falls into two categories; monarchy or a republic. A monarchy is a form of government that is always headed by a
