If you could sing on stage with anybody that sung music who would it be, what music would they sing? If you could be a famous singer what type of music would you sing? If you could pick one type of music and only one which would be your favorite which would be your least favorite? If I could pick one type of music to be my favorite it would be country music. I like country because the music tells a better story in my opinion, it tells a story over a long period of time not just a one to two day period. Country music has the best rhythm to it you can hear the guitar or drums or other instruments they're playing in the background. Also it usually tells of a story I might be in. In music like hip hop, rock, or even poetry I get bored easy. When
One aspect that I analyzed in country music was the presence of religion. This is an issue that many sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn’t occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion “Plays a key role in developing people’s ideas about right and wrong” (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music.
Country music is by far the best. Country music’s style is like no other. Almost every country song has a southern touch too it. Usually when someone hears a country song they can tell it is one because of the unique sound. Country music has some of the best singers to ever come out of the music industry. When I hear Martina McBride hit an impossible note, it sends shivers down my spine. Almost every artist in country music can really sing. Country music has more meaning to their songs, and they are deeper. Country music is a lot more relatable than any other type of music. People can understand Country music better, and they feel like they are going through what the song is about.
Country music is a genre that some might absolutely love and some might absolutely hate. It is a style of music that developed in the southern and western U.S. and often contains lyrics relating to the lives of people who live in the country. While there are a lot of different types of country music, a very popular country artist of this time is Eric Church. Church brings a bit of a twist to country music, with really telling us how he feels. Talking about one of his songs in particular, “homeboy” about a lost young man needing to “come on home, boy.”
There are only a few genres I choose not to listen to at all; otherwise, I can enjoy almost any form of music. I like country music because that is what my Dad always listened to. Although what was his country music was and what mine is today, is much different, my choice roots from my childhood exposure (Detrick, “Music History”). The two components I tend to enjoy most when listening to music are Tone and Rhythm (Detrick, “Music History”). I enjoy the way they make the stories being told, come together and make the song sound
Jazz has been providing lot of ideas and avenues for the growth of the rock and roll music. Right from the commonality of tunes and instruments, Rock and Roll music performers have been able to draw from their knowledge of Jazz.
The origins of country music date back to the beginning of the nineteenth century. It emerged mainly in the southern part of the united states and at first, was very similar to the folk music that had come from Europe and Africa. Ballads and dance tunes were among the most prominent type of country songs at the beginning. Later on, the simple musical form and harmonies of the blues also greatly influenced the development of the country genre. Country music, formerly known as hillbilly music, is usually made up of string instruments like banjos, guitars, and fiddles. Historically, country music was associated with western music, hillbillies, cowboys, and white working class Americans. Today however, the genre is much more broad and increasingly growing in popularity.
When looking at country music from the early 20th century, to what it is today there has been some change but most of the concepts have stayed the same. Much of the country from the early times had music about religion, or hardships that were being faced. This is the same as in the present, there are many songs about turning to religion to find hope. There are also the instruments that are used, the bajo, and other stereotypical country instruments are still used to today. This sound that they have, and that these instruments make are what really categorize the music as country. The sound of country has been modified but the underlying sounds have stayed the same, and the messages that are being sung about have been consistent throughout time. This shows that country is very much like its older counterpart with a few modern changes that are made.
Country Music There was nothing but the darkness of the night. There were no noise to be heard. Suddenly a loud strumming of music came from one direction. Gathering around, people were amazed by what beautiful music they were hearing. This was the start of something new and original; it was called country music.
Country music was one of the first genres of modern American popular music, and old-time music was its earliest style. It developed in the southeastern states of the USA as a mix of folk music from the British Isles, church music and African American blues. It was played on instruments like acoustic guitar, mandolin, autoharp, fiddle and the banjo. Old-time music was first recorded in the 1920s, with recordings of the Carter Family becoming the most popular. A. P. Carter collected folk songs and also wrote new songs, and he sang them in harmony with his guitar-playing sister-in-law Maybelle and his wife Sarah, who also played autoharp. Songs like Can The Circle Be Unbroken (By and By) and Wildwood Flower became hit records, and the Carter Family
Country music is the song of authentic life. The American form of music became popular in the 1920’s and continued to grow. Dolly Parton is one the most well know country singers. Coat of many Colors is an album that portrays Parton’s writing and vocal abilities. Dolly Parton 's Coat of Many Colors release helped to define Parton 's career as a major solo country star and had an influence on popular music. This is indicated by the importance of Parton’s biography in the album, the relationship that the album has with country music fans, and Parton’s role in the creation of the album and the crossover into popular music.
Some people love change, and others, not so much. One instance being in what we listen to on the radio. Country music used to stand out as one of the only types of music that was not vulgar and explicit and was easily identifiable, though lately, that has not been the case. The latest trend of country music has people on both sides of the fence as it continually evolves into amix of several genres and expands further from its roots.“The country music genre has gone through quite a transformation in the past couple of years” (Grady Smith) as stated in an Entertainment Weekly article. This quote is referring to howcountry music has gotten away from the slow and innocent tune it used to have. Nowadays you can hardly hear an acoustic guitar of
infusing both country and rock together. They are the first successful ones to do so. Originally each member of the group was doing different things during the early 70s. Each one had their own band or was working for another artist at the time but after meeting by mutual record labels and playing one gig with each other in Linda Ronstandt band at Disneyland they decided to form the band. The band in the beginning consists of four members, Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner. A man name Steve Martin, a friend of the band, wrote a book and he suggested that the name for the band should be call the Eagles, but Glenn Frey insisted that the name of the group is just Eagles. Soon followed in 1972 their first album, Eagles, was released and became a breakthrough success.
Do you like country music ? I do I like older country music rather than the
Most people like to listen to a lot of different music but I really only like country and “alternative” music. Some of the bands I listen to are Sleeping with sirens, Mayday parade, A day to remember, Pierce the veil, Black Veil brides, and a little bit of attila. Country music is okay too. I like Carrie underwood, Luke bryan, Chris young, And a lot more. Listening to music is a HUGE stress reliever for me. Just listening to a couple songs can change my whole mood. Sleeping with sirens was my first band to listen to when I first started to like that kind of music. Then I started to like a lot more of those bands. And now that's all I listen to. Most people can't stand the stuff I choose to listen too, But that's why we listen to it right. I don't care what
During the 1920’s, people have argued this to be known as the “Roaring 20’s” because of all the new trends that were created in different areas of culture. One of the biggest reasons for this were the birth of new music genres such as “Country”. People do love country music because of the meanings behind every lyric of each song, but in reality country music has brought more problems than happiness to society. Some of the reasons why country music has brought a lot of issues to society are due to its horrible sound, the nonsense from the lyrics, and the use of weird instruments such as an autoharp and a banjo. As a result of this combination, the percentage of suicide from all ages has increased ever since country music was introduced. Suicide ratings have been scaring scientists all over the world, they believe that people who listen to country music go through 5 different stages that will lead them to their death. This is the biggest problem that country music has caused throughout the course of its history. Not only has it scared the population of big nations, but it has also scarred scientists because they have estimated that humanity could become extinct in the next 30 years.
