Next, I will do why following directions is important in an adults life. If are unable to follow instructions in school, how do you think you will be able to get a job, and have a functional life. Like I said before about things on your permanent record, if the interviewers that were assigned to interview you see that you are unable of following simple directions, then they will not give you the job. And if you are late to work, your boss will not just continue to always warn you, he will tell you once, and then your fired.
In the Fire service following instructions is of utmost importance. Not only is your life at risk if you fail to follow instructions, but you are also putting your fellow firefighters lives at risk. However, not all instructions given are life threatening but, are there to keep order and uniformity. The fire service is a paramilitary career meaning that it has a very strict standard on how things are done. When you are given a specific instructions, it is important to truly understand what your task is. This includes everything from your job at a structure fire to knowing what your morning chore will be. This is in order to properly due your job and, to ensure that no repeats of that same task are done. Going back to the point of you fellow
Following directions is very important. No one should have to repeat themselves more than once to tell anyone to follow directions. Following directions shows just how much respect you have. If you do not listen, you miss out on important information. Directions are only given out once and not needed to be repeated more than that.
Following directions on a gun range is extremely important because when there are people other then yourself with loaded weapons you need to be aware of everything that is going on at all times. If you don’t understand something or don’t hear a command given by an instructor, you need to as Mr. Robertson would say, “speak up!”. Any mistake made on the gun range is preventable, it’s up to us the students to make sure we are following our safety rules and following directions to keep the class running smoothly for everyone. Following directions is more then just listening to someone give orders, it can be something such as obeying the policies set forth by your agency. Following direction is paying attention to detail and doing things right the first time.
Recess is important to let your energy out. And to go outside to run and play to get your exercise. People say that recess is good for you because you run and play and when you back to work in the classroom you pay attention more. Recess is good for your body to keep your blood pumping thought your body. Recess is all so healthy for your body. It all so helps your muscles when you run around outside.
Using the Guides to Speech and Action as a framework, describe an episode this semester where you felt you were not effective in guiding a child (or children’s) behavior. In detail, describe how you could have used a specific guidance technique (using a number) from the guides in this situation. Using the Guides to Speech and Action as a framework, an episode this semester where I felt I was not effective in guiding a child’s behavior is when I give the child a choice only when I intend to leave the situation up to the children like when one of the teachers asks me to find out if the child is readying for potty and giving her or him one or two minutes. I tend to word the question wrong like asking them “Do you want to go potty?” I felt like I am offering the child a choice to go potty when I should ask the child “Are you ready to go potty?”
In this term, Andari understands the class routine and enjoy class activities. However, Andari still needs to be reminded about following teacher's instruction. Andari tends to ignore teacher's instruction to sit on the mat or pay attention to what teachers are saying in front of the class and prefer to play around by herself. Teachers can help her by constantly reminding her that there are consequences if she refuses to listen to teacher's instruction such as when teacher asked her to tidy up and she refused, she could join the next activity after she finally tidy up. At home, parents can help her by keep giving her consequences such as asking her to tidy up her toys so she can play outside or have
Describe how and when to get guidance to resolve concerns about daily living tasks: When a patient is having an apparent seizure (or is physically ill) there is a button in each room to alert supervising nurses to come at once. When a patient refuses to eat or won't take her prescription and this is out of character the aide has a supervisor to contact without delay.
I think that kids should get time to work on homework in class . It would help kids understand the assignments if they need help. If kids have after school activities they may not have time to complete their homework. Kids would also get more work completed as they would have a better understanding of the homework.
To seek and accept direct and in-direct supervision on the activities that I planned for a Wednesday and a Saturday trip; both of the trips implemented with the plan B. Actual plan for the Wednesday trip was to go to trail a Pomona natural bridge. There was a chance to rain during the activity time. I did not prepare a plan B for the trip. I chose to go to SIU recreation center to swim and to play Ping-Pong and basketball as a general routine for the plan B. The activities at rec center went successful. I had a struggle to organize the tasks to lead the group to get the snacks. The group was running out of time. I had an idea about a health snack in my head, but I stuttered to organize to ask the participants to get the ingredients for the snack. I had to organize to show the participants what they need to make a fruit
In the article, “teaching children with multiple disabilities to self-regulate during independent work” allow students to work on their own and understand how to find study strategies to become successful in the classroom. Mithaug states “teachers use two approaches in the classroom; teacher-choice and student-choice” (pg. 22). These two approaches should be thought about in the classroom to self-regulate during independent work for students with multiple disabilities. Mentioned in the article, are phrases that should be included during instructional time to rephrases and repeat the instructions such as; “what I will do, get out next folder, circle yes, please read the directions carefully, or please raise your hand if have a question” (pg.23).
In our day and age many tasks are assigned to us. Whether it be through school work or or daily jobs, following orders is key to productivity. Now of course the instructions have to be rational, much less sane in order to be qualified as enactable. Yet most of time, this may or may not be the case. Following directions comes in various forms, this could either be in form of educational or disciplinary. Take for instance a homework assignment in which a teacher or professor requests that student complete a certain page of coursework. Or on the actual exam itself, the instructions state that the students how their work.
To minimize its unfamiliarity, you learn before going to school that you attend. Explicit instruction is important in connecting to prior knowledge and skills when beginning a learning sequence (Australian Curriculum and Reporting Authority, 2016). It helps to lay the foundational areas of reading and literacy as a whole in the early years of schooling. Effective reading instruction builds on what children already know, how students learn and on what degree of support they need to become successful in reading/learn and apply new information (Archer, 2011, p.18). Here the idea of scaffolding is evident where “the support provided by the teacher (or another student)…bridge(s) the gap between their current abilities and the intended goal” (Rupley, Blair and Nichols, 2009, p.129). It is important for students who are learning something new, to have the opportunity to have it explained, the opportunity to apply that information guided by their teachers and the opportunity to apply it independently (Archer, 2011). Through an explicit approach the responsibility for learning shifts from teacher to student as they gain confidence and competence with reading. Reading is not an automatic process and must be taught, “explicitly, systematically, early and well” (National Inquiry into the Teaching of Literacy, 2005, as cited in Hempenstall, 2016,p.5). Building on this, it is not enough for explicit instruction to be effective; it must also be efficient so that students can meet outcomes as soon as possible and are given the opportunity to apply it. Working through school is tough and all my high school teachers, orientation leaders and SAT study guides failed to mention that. I honestly have got all my financial skills from my mom and Dave Ramsey, my mom she is great, but all her fingers have turned to rust from pinching pennies. I think holding on to them so tight is her version of a stress ball. Ever since, I was about ten my mom made my sister and I begin to save money, and now her teachings have paid off. I am 19 have a retirement fund—its quite sad but better than nothing—and an emergency fund. I am not saying this to brag but to say how her teachings have helped.
When students need help awhile in seat work practice different signals with them such as having them raise their hand, sign language for restroom, office, sharpening pencils, water, and so on, or even having the students write their name on the board when needed help. This is for teachers so they can help them. Another thing to do is have magnetic buttons to put on a poster-board with the different areas so teachers can know where their students are at all time just in case of an emergency. Once students are done with seat work, teachers can give options for them to do such as giving another assignment, free reading, work at a center, or peer tutors.
