The Keirsey Model is a personality test that inquire about 70 questions to help individuals identify their personality type. The questions are designed to analyze between four dichotomous pairs of preference, leading to the result which reveals a person’s temperament and character type (Keirsey.com, 2008). They are sensing/intuition (S/N), thinking/feeling (T/F), judging/ perceiving (J/P), and extroversion/introversion (E/I). Sensing (S) and intuiting (N) dissect the focus of a person’s attention (1998). Sensing refers to using “facts” to determine a decision. The Keirsey Temperament Sorter is the most commonly used personality instrument in the world. The Keirsey temperament is a tool that helps people better understand their personality. After taking quiz, it was revealed that I most closely resemble the Guardian temperament.
Studies have been done that resulted in the development of several different personality tests that would indicate a person’s primary traits and characteristics. Jung’s work on psychological types based a person’s personality on eight different preferences. Myers and Briggs further developed Jung’s work and developed a combination of these preferences resulting in 16 different personality types that would indicate how a person perceives themselves and their awareness of other things, people or ideas. These preferences include orientations of energy (extroversion, E and introversion, I), processes of perception (sensing, S and intuition, N), processes of judging (thinking, T and feeling, F) and attitudes towards dealing with the outside world (perceiving, P and judging, J) (as cited in Hautala, 2006).
The Jung Career Test was a series of questions that produced a 4-letter type formula that determined the strengths that oversee my personality type. In addition, the Jung Career Test allowed me to understand communication and learning styles that would help me uncover careers and occupations that were most fit my personality type. According to the Carl Jung’s and Isabel Briggs Myers’ typology, my 4-letter type formula is ENFJ, which results in extravert (53%), intuitive (3%), feeling (19%), and judging (22%). I have a moderate preference of extraversion over introversion with marginal or no preference of intuition over sensing. In addition, I have a slight preference of feeling over thinking, with a slight preference of judging over perceiving.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) “is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions” (13). It is one of several personality assessments that is popular among modern mental health experts throughout the world. Currently, it is estimated that the MBTI is “taken by more than two million people per year and is translated into 16 languages (10). “The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people 's lives” (4).
The topic for this week’s paper was to do an analysis about our own personality type and to include supporting documentation for why I either agreed or did not agree with the personality type that was determined from taking the Jung Typology Test.

The KTS-II consists of seventy questions that allow you to select the best answer that pertains to the way you think. There are four different temperament groups that categorize and describes human behavior. The Psychological Personality Type/Preferences survey is designed to indicate your personality traits. It measures your energy source, from either external (E) or internal (I) interactions. How you perceive information, fact (F) or possibilities (P). How you make your decisions, objectively (O) or subjectively (S), and lastly, how you present yourself to the world, decided (D) or flexible (L). When these measurements are put together they give a generalized view of your personality.
Personality assessments can serve as valuable tools to determine personality types, and subsequently allow us to understand certain behavior patterns. My own personality assessment revealed that I have an ENFJ personality type; I am an extrovert; have a preference of intuition over sensing; have a preference of feeling versus thinking; and have a preference of judging over perceiving (Jung, n.d.). The results of my assessment were quite revealing, mostly accurate, with room for interpretation. Real-time circumstances and the environment have a direct impact on my behavior. According to Revelle and Condon (2015) “People differ from themselves on a moment to moment basis in that they do not think, feel or act the same all the time. They change in their feelings, in their thoughts, in their desires and in their actions.”
