In the beginning, George Washington, A man of few words somehow
knew how to gain the respect of his comrades through poise, hard
work, and moral character. He took morale seriously than others
and when temptations arose he rose higher. He wasn't a die-hard
religious man, but he understood sin nature and that
something with such Divine Power had been watching over him and the
nation. When it came time for George Washington to accept the duties
of presidency, he knew because he was not a religious man nor
a scholar, he and future men must base governmental affairs with
moral judgment and good character.

In this
generation many people are clueless as to what a good leader
consist of. A good leader in the 1700s consisted of integrity, moral
characteristics, hard worker, and heroic. Whereas today, leaders
consist of pride, new-aged, self-interest, greed, and many other
characteristics both good and bad. If George Washington was here,
America would surely take advantage of him. They would make fun of
his moral characteristics because we are getting away from God and
religious morals. We, as a nation, see morals as something as a
pastime. They would try and take advantage of this quietness, trying
predict what he is thinking and put ideas in his head that could and
would possibly destroy America. Modern America would be more peaceful if it had eight more years of George Washington. George Washington is a man of war but more
readily a man of peace. Historians believe that Washington had the
ability to quiet quarrels between two different governmental parties.
He also had the ability to be the neutral ground that saw both sides
to every argument. Washington would not have his country's nose in
foreign affairs. He thought and worked hard for peace throughout
George Washington became the first president of the United States soon after winning the war against Great Britain, America becoming the first independent 13 colonies. Since the beginning of his presidency people trusted him, being the one who led the country to victory as the General, contributed to people having faith in him. It states in the book that he chose the Country’s well-being before his own and often made decision following his gut, “he took pains to elevate the public good over private interest and projected honesty and honor over ambition.”(Johnson) Washington took great responsibility and honor of the New build Nation, he didn’t take matters lightly choosing what was best for his country. President George Washington filled a need for someone that American’s could trust. He took up the reigns against the war King George III, who at the time was loved by his people, turned on everyone and started a war. Once that happened Americans embraced Washington whole-heartedly and with open arms and it was said that the man was invincible, God favored him, and honestly, what man wouldn’t ride into battle with someone like that to follow? The first President was said to live by a quote that he took to heart from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. George Washington as America's Greatest Leader An independent country requires a strong, wise and dignified administration to guide a highly emotional population through a tough phase while establishing a stable relationship with other nations. George Washington was a president upon a hill. He set a first-rate example for future presidents by making difficult yet necessary decisions for the developing nation. His words and actions have resonated throughout history and can be seen through feats of other presidents. George Washington possessed great leadership abilities that led to him being designated the General and Commander in Chief of the United Colonies. He was a Southerner who was very trustworthy and fearless. He had already proved his military abilities and was wealthy enough that he would not be tempted by corruption. He was able to attract soldiers and civilians to volunteer their civic duties and stand by him for the long haul, having a long term goal in view. He led his troops by example. George Washington has major difference from the other big leaders of the time because he didn’t have a formal education. It was a very rare thing at the time because many of the powerful people were rich with a quality education whereas Washington didn't come from a very wealth family and had a low quality education. Nonetheless he still grew his power and became the first president of the United States.
Even though Washington was president, he did not care to be more powerful, he wanted to be an equal. “His appointments advanced the idea that the best-qualified people should be tapped for office.” (Establishment of presidency) Washington decided that to have a secure foundation for a country he needed the best qualified people, not peers or friends looking for power. This shows that Washington does not want to benefit people or himself, he wants what is best for his country. Washington also wanted to restrain his power and always ask for help when needed. “He understood his own limitations and was not reluctant to rely upon the counsel of others.” (Establishment of presidency) This shows that even if Washington was president, his effective leadership and country is more important than his
Washington set up several peace treaties with Native Americans and established the Jay Treaty in 1794 which established peace and trade. Even though the first job of president was hard, the most important part of his presidency was the end of it. Washington set many precedents for future presidents. Washington could have ruled America until he died, but he stepped away from office after two terms, which set the precedent of a two term presidency. He also crystallized the power of a three part government and set a good example of how a balance of power could work.
President George Washington was the military comander for the U.S. independence. He was a outstanding president because of his back ground of leadership. When he was in office, he realized how torn the country was from war. He knew he had to fix it some how
George Washington was the first president of the United States and is known as “the Father of Our Country. He was a man with much conviction, humility, and integrity. George Washington trusted in God, was willing to sacrifice much, and he was selfless. All of these qualities were important to his success as a military leader and as the leader of the nation. It is apparent by how revered Washington is today that he was a man of honor.
Washington was selected for president while we were in a crises. He ended up not wanting to run for a 3rd term. While he was in office he saw potential dangers that could make our state go down hill. To help our nation he wrote a Farewell Address. Based on Washington’s experiences as president, he predicted that we should come together and unite, that we should not have enemies but also not to have really close allies and to treat them equally, and to follow the Constitution.
Washington’s preferred title and choice of terms strayed away from the ideas of a monarchy and he was aware of the fact that he needed to set these precedents in order to make sure the presidency would run effectively. These precedents began to form the U.S. government and set the powers of the president and his cabinet in

Washington’s personality allowed him to have respect for the constitution and that the U.S military should respect the authority of a civilian government. His ability to realize the importance of a civilian led government left a lasting effect on our nation. Early on Washington knew the importance of this, Washington knew the importance of the civilian government and that the civilian government should be above the military. (Rhodehamel 87–88) As well, his lust for power always took a back seat.
