Signature Assignment: Apply What You Have Learned Students are interested in learning when school is fun and the educational programs are designed to be engaging. Many schools are embracing technology that actively involve students in learning. The programs are designed to reach out to students and grasp their attention. Students from all different academic abilities can learn and express their knowledge through their use of digital technology. Advancements in technology is allowing for more competition in society while presenting escalating global opportunities. Information is crossing borders and boundaries geographically, allowing investment of the students to compete for opportunities. Through the use of education systems, children can increase learning opportunities to become participants in society to further their growth into model citizens. Children can learn to become socially involved in their surroundings while accepting diversity and using the tools of their educational programs for innovation. Today’s classrooms are small and the technology used should be designed to meet the needs of students learning conditions. Schools need to accommodate classrooms for students and facilitate their learning, showing them the benefits and advantages to exploring learning with the use of technology. Despite being a controversial conversation, teachers and other andminstators are searching tonintergrate computers and othe technological devices into schools. Nevertheless, in order to efficently develop students into successful thinkers, technology will only be practical if used to enhance learning, not control leaning.
The mistakes of my past have helped to develop my future and the person that I am now. Throughout this whole process, I guess you can say I learned that it doesn't matter how bad you messed up or who you hurt in the process, it’s all about how you own up to your mistakes and what you learn from them. While I was in my early stages of school life I always wanted everyone to approve of me and think I was the nicest person they ever met, so I always tried to blend in. I didn't realize till later that being too nice was actually more of a disadvantage than beneficial, if you're too nice people will waste no time taking advantage of it the moment you give them the chance. Yes, I know that’s something that everyone should learn before entering middle school, but I didn't realize how the real world actually looked/treated people like me till I experienced it firsthand. While in elementary school, I only spoke when I was spoken to and, at first, I didn't think much about it, but later I felt out of place.
Since such connections are broader and accessible to almost every students, schools have become progressive in the way they use electronics. Kevin Delaney comments on teaching tools in schools, “Pioneering teachers are getting their class to post writing assignment online so other students can easily read and critique them…educators are beginning to interact with students..”(Source B) Students are able to give constructive feedback to other students and help each other improve. When teachers join the tech world, the relationship and communication between student and teacher is able to progress and advance. Teachers are able to direct students to specific resources which gives multiple online options to students who can look at different approaches to learning new information. However, too much information can inundate a child’s mind and can lead to a lack of imagination. Rather than create one’s own ideas, students are now force fed information without the ability to form unique beliefs. Esther Dyson calls attention to the fact that technology prevents students from being able to process information. She states, “machines automate the production of attention-consuming information.. today’s children are living in an information-rich time-compressed environment that often seems to stifle a child’s imagination.”(Source C) Giving students too much information in school
Education in today’s society is extremely different from education in the past. The subjects that are being taught in schools such as math, science, and history are still the same, but the implementation of technology has completely changed education. We are living in a country that is called a technologically civilized society. The use of the Internet has not changed the way that we think but it is making unique contributions in classrooms by providing us with immediate and convenient access to an extraordinary amount of ideas and information. “In the world that we currently live in, technology is a very vital factor”. Today most people are more familiar with the gadget they carry in their backpack or even in their pocket; which is technically advanced. Every other day a new software device is being brought into the marketplace that helps to improve our knowledge in and out of school. in one way, the internet provides a much easier opportunity in education for student everywhere with access to all kinds of books available at any time. However, it is important to note that despite the fact that technology plays a big role in making our school lives much easier, it is not the only role it has. The internet seems to be impairing our ability to focus and to think deeply on any subject. The more technology continues to grow, the more improvement it provides in education level for certain students while for others it has a very different effect in the way we read and take in information. Furthermore, I will be discussing both pros and cons of the way technology is used in and out of our schools today.

As technology becomes a more and more prevalent addition to classrooms today, the debate on whether technology is effective continues. Educational institutions, ranging from elementary schools to universities, are implementing online lessons, interactive computer programs, and computers into the everyday classroom environment. As technological development continues, researchers discover more and more ways to apply technology to the benefit of every type of student. Technology is not only positively changing the way students learn and research, but is additionally allowing students who were previously unintegrated into the mainstream classroom to not only join in, but also excel both socially and academically.
Technology use in the classroom is extremely beneficial for students for a vast number of reasons. Although schools are currently utilizing various forms of technology in education, these technologies are not necessarily supported by the community due to insufficient information detailing the benefits they provide in a child’s development. However, by embracing the digital world and ensuring that the technologies being implemented are engaging and fulfil individual educational requirements, students become more efficient learners and are empowered to develop positive and meaningful interpretations of the world. It is essential for educators to provide digital technologies in the classroom as it can greatly assist students with special needs, equips students to become lifelong learners and provides students with the necessary skills in order to be adequately prepared for the workforce, becoming confident and productive contributors to society.
Did you know that there were 53,245 schools in the year 2005 that used computers (Dimauro table 252)? Of course this is an unbelievable fact, but at this rate technology is taking over the world! Technology in education has grown at a rapid pace over the years. Through these years many obstacles have been overcome, but many more still lay ahead. People today use technology on an everyday basis from the time they wake up to the time they go to sleep, but the question of whether technology is positive for the students is still an ongoing debate in today’s society. There are so many things to gain from integrating the use of technology into the classroom such as, having easy access and a broader range of resources for the students to use. Also, students are usually more engaged and stay on task when they are using technology, which would cause the teachers to have less behavior situations to deal with. The obstacles that the education system faces today are the safety of the students using the technology, the training of teachers in the use of technology, and the cost of integrating technology into the classrooms. Though technology in education has many negative effects they can easily be fixed ensuring that technology in education is a positive resource for students by taking measures to make sure appropriate funding is made and that it is effectively used.
Technology has developed far quicker in the last fifty years than ever before in the history mankind. It has influenced the way we all live in countless ways including how we learn. In a culture that has become increasingly reliant on technology, it is not shocking that technology has become part of the permanent setting in our schools and classrooms. Technology is changing the landscape of education, modernizing how educators teach, how children learn and how parents contribute in the process. The digital-technology revolution was slow to penetrate the ranks of America's public high schools and slower still to trickle down to the ranks of our elementary institutions. The good news is that high-tech teaching is finally providing a forceful impact to the elementary learning process. Elementary level education is a student’s foundation of their academic period and it is in this stage where technology should be embraced to learn and teach.
Are computers helpful to a child’s learning process or do they completely ruin it? Many people have a strong opinion on technology and using it in schools. Parents, educators and students all have different views on the topic. Some people believe that it is unnecessary to use technology in schools, and who encourage traditional teaching and hands on learning; others believe that technology is enticing the children and putting forth an engaging way of presenting information. Many schools are going towards the direction of including technology as an effective tool used for their curriculum, but there still needs to be a hands on aspect to introduce the children to new experiences. Education should be a mixture of technology and hands on; traditional teaching needs to be balanced to create a complete connection needed for the real world for children in school.
Technology plays a major role in the classroom of today and it is important as a future educator to understand the influence technology has on the lives of young children. Traditional notions of education are no longer sufficient as we live in an era driven by information. New technologies are changing the way we think, live and work (Howell, 2012, pg. 11). For teachers this means continually reinventing their teaching pedagogy. It is essential that student-led learning is practiced in the classroom in order for students to become active and innovative learners. Developing digital fluency is also important when discussing the importance of technology in the classroom because allowing students to have constant engagement with and exposure to technology contributes to their life long skills.
The traditionalist approach to school, coupled with the rise in technology, has led to a bitter rivalry. The use of technology continues to catapult the world into a new age while hopelessly dragging along the skeptics that resist the change. Innovation in education continues to prove essential in keeping students engaged and attentive. When educators employ the true benefits of technology it proves to be highly effective in furthering their ability to teach. However, the improper use of technology has shown to distract and negatively affect students on their path to success.
Today and around the world technology has become one of the important tools in the classroom and in our life. Technology has changed every level of the learning environment. Over the past 70 years, classrooms learning were different from today learning environments. Also, many high schools and colleges are embracing to new technology in the classrooms nearly every day and every year. Technology in the classroom has changed our classroom learning to another level, for students to be able to register their courses in the classroom on the computer. It has low students’ academic performances, class activities, and failing grades. There are several reasons why technology should be allowed in the classroom, because of the positive influence on our academic performances, and research.
Imagine what schools would look like without all of the technology they have now. No computers, televisions, projectors or smart boards, just a piece of chalk and a black board. Is that the best way of teaching? Or is technology a major factor in the success of students today? According to a local principal “there is a technology gap and the schools must address this concern. It is critical to prepare our students to meet the demands of the 21st century and technology is on the forefront of job development. In order for our students to be successful in the workforce, they must have the skills to utilize technology.” Through multiple in-depth studies, researchers have been able to prove that almost all computer technology has had a positive impact on the students using it. “Technology in Education” says that “Technology is making a significant, positive impact on education” (7) Despite the positive results of the conducted research, some people still believe that the chalkboard is the way that students should be taught and that technology is not the way to go. Going from chalkboards to computers is a big step in education, but it is one necessary to keep up with the world around us. With the use of technology increasing in the work place and at home, it is almost necessary to have it in schools.
