D = You zigged when you should have zagged. Inadequate job of meeting assignment guidelines • Text poorly suited to the audience, purpose and context
• Information inappropriate to the needs of the audience
• Parts of the discussion missing or out of order
• Format or graphics poorly suited to audience and/or purpose and/or context
• Poor style relative to audience and/or purpose and/or context
• Unsatisfactory mastery of standard written English conventions evident
C = Nice work. You have done everything that was expected of you, including meeting every aspect of writing detailed in the silly-bus. You spelled things correctly, you used MLA correctly, and structure was solid and flowed from idea to idea very well. Once again I say to you nice
That was the highest marking I made while in this class. My emotions were bursting with excitement. I was seeing multiple positive comments. He wrote “great conclusion, perfect sentence, and good thesis.” These were words that made me happy because I have never heard those comments before. I was very unsure about my grade I went back to my professor and asked him if this was the right grade. When I figured out that I officially made that grade I was extremely proud of myself.
Even though I think I could have used my class time more wisely and my presentation was a day late, I think I did my best on every other aspect of the project. All of my research reflections and reading blogs were well thought out and posted on time. I had an analytical and thorough approach to my reading blogs and I did my best to choose specific passages from the book on which to reflect. My Google Site is complete and has been kept up on a daily basis. I updated the daily log and had my I-Search elements posted on time. Also, I improved my research skills from last semester. Last semester, I only used articles from GALE databases for my sources. This semester, I have sources that include podcasts, videos, and journals. I improved my business letter writing skills as well. Since we did the expert interviews, I was able to greatly enhance this skill and ended up with an exceptional, informative interview. Another reason I would give myself an A is because my multigenre artifacts and notes were very well-done. I put a lot of thought and effort into all of my artifacts and made sure that they fit well around veterans' suicide. Also, I have thorough notes on all of them, which is an improvement from last semester when I failed to make any notes. One last thing I think is deserving of an A is how well I answered my research questions. I used good research skills to find information sources that gave the best insight on what I
Through understanding the errors, I made in Writing Assignment #3 (WA #3) I was able to edit and better understand what corrections was needed for Writing Assignment #4 (WA #4) to become a well thought out paper. For WA #3 I received a B+ because of the lack of further development in my argument, which made the voice in the argument, the context behind sources and the thesis weaker.
Presentation: The diction and syntax is clear, and the information presented is easy to understand. I think that the main issue with presentation is making this seem more like a literature review than an argumentative essay. Score: 3
The grade above is NOT complete! We do not actually use a crystal ball to generate your grade. Instead, this grade takes into account spelling, grammar, word choice, style, vocabulary, and more; but it does NOT examine the meaning of your words, how your ideas are structured, or how well your arguments are supported. We should also mention that our automated grader doesn't always get things right. So, please consider this grade to be one facet of your paper's overall
Remarks were also made on subject- verb agreement, the use of verb tense and the use of article. Some of the common mistakes in my writing: I failed to put “s” at the end of subject or noun, I applied a singular verb for a plural subject, etc... I should have caught this mistakes during proofreading, but now I now I should take my time and read my entire paper meticulously to avoid such mistakes in the future. As for the work cited list, I did submit an edited essay with alphabetized work cited. Corrective measures will be considered in my next plan to correct my
Proficient 20 (20%) points: Greatly great job! I saw very few issues in your paper. I added some suggestions to your document for you to review.
I am not a natural journalist. I cannot just articulate big words and make sentences sound very proper, exact, and clever without quite a bit of examination. With all that being said, I thought I fell off towards the end of the paper. I included less from the articles and more of my own personal opinion. I also thought I could have made the ethical questions of driverless cars into a much better paragraph then it was. The ethics were also a difficult thing to nail down for the argument. Many people have different categories of things, and say things differently, so the topic could have used more precision and examination than what I gave
Now after a semester of learning about my own writing and how to write better. I learned about current events around the world for my papers, such as Kaepernick kneeling and The immigration issues for the Syrians. So after what seemed like a semester, I feel for that all the work I put in I deserve a B. I would turn my work in on time with all the proper edits. I believe I made a good and proper reflection that summed up my time in your class, with the work i’ve done and with what i’ve learned. And finally probably where I struggled the most revising. I would revise each paper twice as I stated earlier to make sure my grammar and paper gave a clear and concise point. I didn’t revise it enough for the A level which is why I feel I deserve a B. I would go through it with the peer edits and fixing the grammar problems pointed out. Then once I finished with your edits and the peer edits, I would re-read it once to see if i enjoy it and then submit it. So overall I put in the work, but not an insane amount to deserve me an A. That is why I truthfully believe I deserve a B
Over the course of this class I have learned things that I didn’t know before and developing as a writer. I learned different things with each of the assignments I submitted. I learned things like how to develop my writing and how to transition my writing to flow better together. I learned to correctly cite in text citations and I learned how to create a profile. Each of these things I will carry with me as I continue to write for various classes or other reasons in the future and they will continue to help me better myself as writer. The five student outcomes have helped me to better myself by giving me guidelines to follow and to help me understand the assignments better. They
I believe I have accomplished some of my best writing this semester. I would have never thought I could write a ten-page Multi-Modal Argumentative Synthesis Paper.
Like you stated in your essay, no one is perfect at writing. That being said, I still enjoyed your essay. You described your experiences and opinions in a satisfactory way, and it was easy for me to understand what college-level writing means to you from reading your essay. The subject of the essay didn’t get lost and you kept me interested throughout it all, even making me feel like I could relate to some of your experiences. I feel like you did a good job at portraying these experiences and you knew exactly what you were talking about. Many of the transitional phrases used, contributed to the cohesiveness within your paper. I also felt like I was given an insight into your past experiences and it was interesting to learn how your background shaped the way you currently view higher level writing. You did not miss the point of this essay and I feel like you took your time to understand what was asked of you before you started writing and it definitely shows.
poor composition. Had the student stayed on topic instead of including irrelevant descriptions, the sentence would have flowed much easier. The grading scale of the composition can range from insufficient in the result of imprecise ideas; to excellent, being that there was a focus on the main idea and an elaborated amount of details were supplied.
In what ways did your work meet the standards for this assignment? In what ways did it not meet those standards?
Are there typing and/or proofreading errors? Is the manuscript neat and the format correct? Are page numbers inserted? Is this Grading Rubric attached as the final page of the paper and Statement of Originality & Authorship signed by author (or placed in the cover Email if submitted electronically)? (0-7 Pts)
