Ray Kroc had shown the leadership skills Dick and Maurice McDonald lacked throughout his time spent with the corporation. He had proven himself to be a leader by taking steps the McDonalds brothers failed to do. Kroc had first bought his own franchise where he recruited sharp and well suited workers and then later gained exclusive rights to McDonalds and was able to sell more franchises than the McDonalds brothers ever could. Henry Ford and Henry Ford II violated the Law of Empowerment because rather than acknowledging their leaders, they chose to undermine and destroy them. As soon as either of the men felt threatened, they were quick to take action and destroyed them in the best ways possible. They made sure to keep their workers in check while also restricting them of the resources and acknowledgment they deserve.

One example of a leader that has violated the Law of Empowerment is leaders like Hitler. They had great power and chose to degrade those different from him. Some leaders violate the Law of Empowerment because they feel threatened and want to maintain leadership. Another reason leaders violate the Law of Empowerment is due to fear of change. Leaders must embrace change and desire it so that they are able to improve their organizations. Along with this is a lack in self-worth. If a leader is unable to believe in himself and continuously worry over what other think, he is not fit to be a leader thus is unable to give others power and take care of their fellow leaders.

One of the reasons on why leaders don’t share their authority that is most prevalent is in lack of self-worth. At times, I feel inadequate or shy about what I have accomplished. This restricts me from showing others what I am capable of and possible expansions my peers can bring on my ideas. While working on projects for example, I find it difficult to share my ideas or thoughts at first because I feel they would be joked upon. I worry greatly on what others think of me and my work which comes with a great disadvantage that needs to be improved
