It has been quite some time since I have sat down to write you an email. Honestly I didn’t think it would be necessary due to the fact you are home now. It’s not like we have to worry about you leaving for deployments or extended periods away from home. That said our communication has gone down the crapper and seriously needs work.
Recently case in point is Kimberly Holland. February 2014 I advised you that her texts and photos were inappropriate. That a subordinate should not be sending her supervisor photos of date night outfits or swimsuit photos. Those discussions/texts regarding her personal life or marriage problems were not appropriate topics to discuss with her supervisor. This time last year again was the exact same topic. Now we have the recent nude photos and sexting/ flirting.
I am hurt, disappointed, angry, upset and mad as hell. I can not continue to pretend that this does not bother me. We need to seriously sit down and discuss this issue that is Kimberly Holland.
We had the same issue twice with Susie in 2009 and 2010 both times in August either right before or after your Birthday. I’m seeing a pattern and it is always around your Birthday.
Finding out you got rated 70% for PTSD was shocking. I honestly didn’t think it was that bad so I started researching. I’m even on a PTSD page on facebook. It was a relief to know that we are not the only family that has the same issues. Upon reading about PTSD and the effects it has on families and
Over the last 6 years I worked with Veterans that have been diagnosed with PTSD. I have seen symptoms of this diagnosis play out in a variety ways. This experience has only fueled my passion to want to become more educated and experienced on the topic so that I can better service to Veterans. I also believe that becoming better educated on the topic will allow me to dispel some of the myths associated with PTSD. As discussed in class, before the accept into the DSM-3 in 1980 service member that experienced symptoms of PTSD were seen as unfit to handle the psychological casualties that came with the War. They were often viewed as weak and were forced back on the battlefield despite showing clear indicators that the fatigue that comes along with battle had begun to affect their daily lives. After the mainstream acceptance of PTSD in 1980 many active duty service members and Veterans still had a hard time proving to the VSA that they were indeed suffering from PTSD. Over time there has been a mainstream acceptance that many Veterans as well as other populations may suffer from PTSD. The mainstream acceptance of PTSD has the ability to offer hope to those that are affected by the
When this assignment was given out, I instantly knew exactly what relationship I wanted to analyze: my ex-boyfriend’s and my relationship. It might sound like an odd relationship to choose, seeing as he is an ex, and it might not sound like a good starting point, but let me first say he is one of my best friends right now.
2.1 It is self-evident that communication and interpersonal skills are crucial in the workplace. Good two-way communication is important to enable the flow of information in an effective way whether it be verbal or non-verbal. Good communication has a positive impact on the performance of the team including; everyone is clear what is expected from them, they receive good feedback and recognition of achievements which makes staff feel valued and boosts employee morale. The manager needs to be approachable and have a non-threatening manner so
PTSD has had a major impact on veterans and their families who have fought in war. Studies show that over the past 13 years, about 500,000 US soldiers have been diagnosed with the disorder (Thomas). This does not only cause problems for the veteran with PTSD, but the families are affected in many ways also. This disorder has done as much as destroyed relationships and families.
Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to educate and inform my audience of the risks inherent from unintended hypothermia. I’m eager to alert perioperative staff of the potential dangers as well as the preventative measures that can be taken in order to avoid complications associated with unintended hypothermia. My central idea is hypothermia management saves lives.
Interpersonal communication is the most important kind of communication. It happens when two individuals are in a close proximity to each other, and they are able to provide immediate feedback to one another. IPC (interpersonal communication) is the way we express our thoughts, feelings, and ideas to the people around us. Interpersonal communication is something you need to do well as it affects many aspects of your life.
The communication process is used in every kind of relationship. It could be in a friendship, an acquaintance, a significant other, a family, and many more. I found out these processes can be harder than you think three years ago. My father got remarried and I was forced to become up close and personal with complete strangers, my step family. The communication process language in my step family describes the concepts and ideas of the transactional communication model and the social penetration theory.

Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, support each other; organize our lives and make decisions; and it allows us to work together. Effective communication is based on the way we talk and listen, how we respond and our body language. We can all learn how to improve the way we communicate.
The object of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of interpersonal communication. The paper will discuss how human service professionals can help by learning the standards of clients of a different culture. This paper will demonstrate some barriers that counselors may endure when assisting clients. Emotions can influence whether a client discuss circumstances to the interviewer and recognizing nonverbal and verbal cues. The authors have established the importance of counselors and their ability to communicate in their daily and professional lives. Many problems can happen when there is a lack of communication but knowing oneself is necessary to support others.
I had to fight a long and bloody battle to finally accept that I may never be able to get rid of this damn PTSD, which not only render me emotionally unstable but is also damaging some areas of my poor brain (that’s why I am so smart! Hehe). Did you know that chronic PTSD causes a volumetric change in the amygdala and hippocampus? Well, I did not know. I’ve learned it during the physical psychology class. Needless to say, I cried while studying what the hell is happening in the brain of a person with a chronic
Why is it important that you are able to communicate effectively with people in your job role?
In every society nonverbal communication is one of the most powerful tools that a person can use to interpret the message that is being delivered. Even though verbal communication is fairly straightforward, nonverbal communication allows others to sense the true emotions of the person that is expressing them. For example even though a person may say that they are not irritated, their usage of voice may display otherwise. Nonverbal communication not only reveals hidden messages, but it also complements, substitutes, and exaggerates verbal communication.
“What, what did you say?” I often find myself saying this when talking with children. The likely culprit of why is poor listening habits. “Most people spend mere time listening than they spend on any other communication activity, yet a large percentage of people never learn to listen well.” (TLSC, 2008) The above example is what I like to call “pseudo listening.” People will be thinking about something else but appear to be listening and only get about half the intended message. Recently at my father’s (Ron) company because of a pseudo listening instance a $400,000 dollar piece of equipment did not get specked correctly. When it was delivered to the customer at Company B the blast doors did not fit properly on the dryer unit. As one
Friendships and romantic relationships makes our lives go round. Without them our lives would be dull and lonely. Unlike family members, we are allowed to choose our friends and lovers. There are various levels of friendships and diverse forms of romantic relationships, and they can all lead to being close, intimate, and loving. Both friendships and romances considerably enrich the well-being of our physical and mental state. Friendships can lead to romantic relationships, and romantic relationships can lead to just being friends.
