Introduction I am interested in pursuing a degree in business because a variety of job opportunities are represented within the field. My parents also owned their own business, which was the main reason I wanted to pursue a business degree. I was inspired by their work ethics, and how they overcame their struggles and obtained success within their business and recognition in society. Originally, my major was in management. However, I recently became more interested in an ISOM major after attending an “Ask the Professionals” event. This is because an ISOM major combines both business and IT skills to provide a unique skill set that is highly sought after in the current job market. My ideal job upon graduation would be working in a company like Freddie Mac where I can apply my knowledge and work within a team setting. Industry Skills Requirements
The common professional skills necessary to succeed in the business world include speaking skills, writing skills, and problem solving skills. Speaking skills are important because they are necessary to convey your thoughts. They can even be used to persuade others such as managers and coworkers to believe in your ideas for the company. Problems solving skills are necessary within a business because you may face ethical challenges or conflicts with other
Since moving to the United States, a land of opportunity, I followed the immigrant tradition of working hard to pursue my passion/ambition to study and get my degree. I started attending community college a year after I came to the United states. I spent three years at Northern Virginia Community College and transferred to the university of Virginia to earn a B.A degree. I have always kept a full-time job while attending community college to cover my living expenses and help my parents back home Throughout my journey of achieving a higher degree, I learned how to work hard and how to overcome challenges in my own personal and academic life. Now I am very confident in achieving my goals.

The skills I believe to be essential are to learn through experience and to analyze and understand. To explain, let’s analyze examples from two essays; “Blue-Collar Brilliance” written by Mike Rose (a professor at the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies) and “The New Liberal Arts” written by Sanford J. Ungar (Author and president of Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland, from 2001 to 2014). Learning from experience is easier said then done. When we are starting a new job, it will take some time to figure out how to correctly do the work. You might mess up from time to time, but eventually you’ll get the hang of it. Mike Rose explains that, “Though work-related actions become routine with
My intended major is Business. Business content is generally a comprehensive accounting, economics, finance, marketing science and organizational behavior concepts. The concept in society is prior to the operation of business and personal financial management on the benefits and influence. Because the relationship between industrialization and information technology services was booming, commercial terms a large number of derivatives, so business is considered in making the business a way to enter the job market prior to the social utility, Therefore, I also chooses Business as my university departments. Because of world trade and development, globalization has made countries increasingly dependent; therefore, business is importance and
Students who go far in school often do so in order to prepare themselves for the "real world" of business and industry. That preparation requires a high degree of knowledge and insight, but it also requires communication and strategy skills such as a clear writing style, a global perspective, ethics, critical thinking skills, and problem solving abilities. In order to be prepared for the business
I was given the opportunity to attend the University of Florida summer institute. There were some questions we were asked to answer to show our ability in the Healthcare field and to prove ourselves on why we should be chosen to attend. The first question that was asked is… Why do you want to attend the Healthcare summer institute ? I thought over about this question contemplating back and forth on why I would like to attend. In the end I came up with; I feel like if attending would better my chance of become a Veterinarian in the future I would take the opportunity over and over again. I would love the opportunity to look at the campus and see how college students live. I’ve never toured the University of Florida's campus but I have been to the equestrian area many time before and have seen a lot of
To enter into the world of business it is best to earn a two-year associate’s degree in business management. Earning this can offer you opportunities. You would start from ground level and progress in the company buy furthering your education and obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Most companies who are hiring are looking for people who have at least a four year bachelor’s degree, which makes this the best choice. For top-level spots, you will most definitely want to seek a Master’s degree. Employers looking for people for senior level positions are looking for those with better degrees. Typically, this extra education requires an extra year or two of college beyond the bachelor’s degree. Obtaining a master’s degree may become an option offered to you by your employer to get to that top spot in your existing company you work for.
