Business Administration
“The Associate in Science in Business Administration for Transfer is designed to provide students with the common core of lower division courses required to transfer and pursue a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration. This includes business degrees with options such as accounting, finance, human resource management, international business, management, operations management, and marketing.”
In order to complete a class successfully the course must be completed with a grade of “C” or better. Required core course will include several accounting classes, economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics, legal environment of business, math classes, computer information science, introduction to information systems programming, introduction to business, and business communication. The total units for this major are 27- 28 general education units and 37-39 units transfer electives to complete 60 transferable units.

This program emphasizes fundamental business principles through the study of marketing, accounting, finance, and globalization techniques. The program requires a miminum of 60 semester hours of study in business, science, math, economics, management and humanities courses. Some students may be eligible to earn credits based on their work experience through the Prior Learning Assessment program. Completing an Associate's Degree in Foundations of Business can usually be completed in about two and a half years. Students completing the AA degree with a concentration in Foundations of Business will be able to work in entry level positions or improve their opportunities for advancement
Their Business Studies Major introduces students to the core business disciplines and provides students another way to take full advantage of the unique way Bentley’s curriculum blends business and the arts and sciences (About Bentley). Bentley possess seven business majors: accounting, computer information systems, corporate finance and accounting, economics finance, finance, marketing, and professional sales (Majors Bentley University). A student said, “‘Bentley University’s business-focused classes are taught by “real-life business men and women that bring their experiences from the real world into the classroom.” It is to my benefit that I would be able to experience the real world as a businesswoman so that I am prepared when I receive a job. Current business students said that the business education at Bentley is “well-rounded,” and offers “connections to many alumni throughout the state”’ (Bentley University Ranking and Recognition). Bentley is proficient in Information systems to create employees that businesses want. Without professionals that can build information systems, companies can not create and market products, manage their operations, or plan for the future (Bentley University CIS). Human Resource Manager focuses on three main areas which are Recruitment of, Management of and providing training for the people who are employed within the organisation. This department deals with hiring, health and safety, motivation for the employees (such as bonuses) and managing the performance. An organisation that I will be relating this too is Tesco. There are three main factors that Tesco has to consider and they are Internal planning, External planning and Employee skills.

The University of Phoenix offers business degree programs geared toward working adults. These programs allow full-time professionals the opportunity to advance their education while maintaining a career.
