Is Animal Testing Ethical?
Right now, innocent animals are suffering due to experimentation for human products. Scientists are testing products and new medical treatments on animals to see if they are safe for human use. The treatments of these animals is also unethical, and they are forced to live in small, cramped spaces. Some of the animals do not even see sunlight or leave the laboratories in their lifetimes. Most of the time, these experiments conducted are not successful, which wastes the lives of millions of animals per year. Scientists claim that animals are the only reason we have advanced in science. Though, if minimal percentages of these tests are actually successful in human tests, is it worth it to waste not only the lives of these animals, but also enormous amounts of money along …show more content…

Billions of dollars are spent on experimentation a year, when new methods are available for scientists to use which are cheaper, and sometimes more effective and accurate.

If testing on humans is wrong, the same should apply to animals. These small animals deserve the same amount of respect as a human child. Animals have similar nervous systems as a human, and are still able to feel pain and hunger. Very few success have come from animal testing, and these little successes do not outweigh the cost of millions of animals lives.
