I'm the queen of this land But suddenly I lost my balance and can't stand My ocular perceivers sting as they are filled with sand The Susurration of "Is she non compos mentis? Is she crazy?" Are creating ghosts that are frighteningly eerie Can't they optically discern I'm just a girl that is in need of safety? Slumber discerned my pleading and decided to leave But when it came to visit, fright is what it endeavored to achieve It's replaying in my head scenes of pain and grief Their echoes are cacophonous in my head "Nothing is wrong with you" is what they verbally expressed But I'm a coin that flips, either I'll be on the top or dead As you can visually perceive there are twists and turns in this story line But that's what it's like to
Unexplainable singularities are inevitable. Society does not have the solution to every dilemma or anomaly that transpires. Undeniably, two fields of study that still has unidentified surfaces are the human psyche and supernatural activity. Scientists and researchers, regarding the psychology of the mind and supernatural happenstance, uncover new data and statistics every day. A psychological disorder can develop at any junction in a person’s life and encompass peculiar behavior in the way a person feels, thinks, and acts. In the novella, “The Queen of Spades” by Alexander Pushkin there are several key elements that provide the reader with enough data to formulate that the main character’s mental stability triggers the manifestation of the late Countess. Conversely, Stanley Kubrick’s movie adaptation of Stephen King’s novel, “The Shining,” demonstrates strong indications of the supernatural.
If you believe in ghosts, you aren’t alone. A YouGov survey of about 1,000 people says that 45% of people believe that ghosts or spirits of the dead can come back and interact with us. It kind of sounds crazy to believe that people can stick around after they die and even interact with objects in our world, but so many people swear they have encountered something that they can’t explain. I’ve always grew up really skeptical of these things. The Idea that spirits stick around with us after death is an ancient one, and is incorporated into countless literature, from the Bible to “Macbeth”. It has inspired so many different kinds of media like horror movies, ghost stories, and tv shows. I grew up watching some of these things, and the question always remained in my head: Are ghosts real? I really wanted to answer that in this senior project. I think I finally have a good answer that I’m going to stick with.
I’m alone in a dark, murky world. All I feel right now is cold, anxious, and…scared. I’m already too tired to run. I’m shaking within a pitch black world. Then I hear someone’s voice in the distance.
Today I woke up with a hectic day ahead of me, my duties stopped me from spending time with my family. As I woke up at dawn the weather outside is wild as I dressed into my finest robe. I eat a small breakfast and then go outside doing my duties. I go outside and I speak to the lord about an trouble that had happened on my land. I then make my way down to the peasants, touching the sick and healing them. After this i would go back into my castle and the lords would give me taxes from the people who have been on my land, also they would report anything they saw in the distance and on the land. Some nobles then came running into the castle, complaining that the peasants and the surf aren't growing enough crops to provide them for there food, I then had to go speak
Eyes struggled to open, the world around me blurry, dark, spinning. “Danny, Danny, are you alright?” I heard my mother ask frantically. Confused, startled, feeling like someone was trying to hammer a nail through my head, a warm and sticky fluid running down the side of my face, my eyes gradually converging on my surroundings.
When I was little, I didn’t know I could see paranormals. I didn’t know they existed. I was in a foster care system. One day, I wanted to go to the library. I walked through the cemetery and saw a guy sitting on the gravestone. I looked at him and saw right through him. I got so scared. Paranormals have normal people skin but underneath they are ugly. I see them for who they are underneath their skin. The ICPA uses me to bag and tag these paranormals now. Nobody else can see these monsters, so I taze them and put a tracker on their ankle and read them their rights, They need to be in ICPA custody so they don’t hurt anybody. Vamps suck people’s blood and Zombies eat people and hags eat little kids and werewolfs howl and the moon and attack people.
I can barely make out two people coming here, looks like a girl and a guy. I overhear them talking about the dance, so that has told me I have been here for over 30 minutes, Laura is probably really worried. Maybe I can get them to notice me I’ll use all my strength that I have left to make a noise. Dang all of that and I could only make a slight grunt. No way, he’s looking this way I have to make another noise. No! I can’t even make another noise, this is pathetic. Even though I only made this small sound he’s walking over here, yes! This might be my big break. The girl is saying something about Royals, and Guardians. I think she is scared that they will come for them because they saved me. Damn those Guardians! No, He’s walking away now he said sorry but that can’t save me, they are both gone
Oh what have I just witnessed? I can’t believe this. I don’t want to anyway. Perhaps this is just a nightmare but I have never perceived something like this even in the worst of nightmares. Perhaps this is because my brain always woke me up before such a horrific image engulfed my mind and now I see something that my eyes will never be able to erase. What happened to this noble family? This feeling of sadness flows through my veins and has deadened my mind. It acts as a poison to my once uplifted spirit. It covers my soul as if a black mist had settled upon me and refused to shift. This once happy world now feels lost and nothing could bring it back into focus.
She ran, her breath coming in gasps. Just a few more steps. Tears fell freely, blurring her vision, but that did not matter she still remembered the way. The worn rock steps had been a comfort to her when she was a child. Now they pierced her bare feet cutting into her skin as broken as she felt. The destination was a place she had once called her own. The maids had told her that the kingdom was guarded by magic to keep away anyone who tried harm to the royal family. She refused to believe them of course, magic was long dead in her
Waiting for the feeling, something to hit me. It became clear this would not happen until I fell asleep. After being awake for almost 4 hours, my eyes really couldn't stay open any longer. Something began to happen, I couldn't tell what. I was falling, falling again. I landed, right in the middle of reality, and nowhere. The voice came on stronger this time, much louder. It was almost like it began to yell. "Can you hear the rumble that's calling?" The voice said again. Despite the loud volume of the voice, it was assuring. It made me feel comfortable. Even though I was in some sort of weakened state, I always felt better here than I did in the real world. Something was telling me that I just needed to be freed. Whether it was the voice inside my head, or some other voice, I felt it. The voice was so showing so much empathy, it felt inhuman, but at the same time it felt so human. It felt real, I could never describe the way it made me feel, how it moved me. I wanted to yell out, with everything I had. Part of me knew it just wasn't right, I had to wait for it to come to me. I knew that everything I wanted would come soon. I know what you're thinking, how was I not freaked out? It's simple, I didn't have room for that kind of thinking. I was so relieved to feel this way, it was a feeling of release. It's like that feeling when you get into a hot tub. The deeper you get, and the longer you stay, the more your body is at
As I open my eyes, an overwhelming anxiety floods through my veins. Paralyzed unable to bat a single eyelash, I move my eyes throughout the room. The mirror in the corner of the bedroom was luminescent from the crescent clear moon outside. As my eyes circled back to the mirror, the silhouette of a young women began to appear along with a cold breeze bringing shivers up and down my spine. She began approaching my bedside , one hand extended towards me, unable to see her face. I began screaming yearning for someone to hear my pleas for help. The sound of my own screams inside my head began to make my hands and feet clammy. As the silhouette reached out and brushed her hand along my cheek I felt the heat leave my body instantaneously. She has
I finally have the strength to stand up, while leaning on a heavy rock. All around me are these green vines slashing at my face as I walk. One minute I’m staring out the window of an aeroplane, the next, struggling to breathe with smoke levels increasing, inside a broken jet. I must have passed out with the on and off condition that I have and all. Now, I don’t even know how to relax and just keep moving, hoping to see some human flesh. I look in all directions and faintly see the open sea. I see that I’m isolated in a creepy jungle, in nowhere. I just wish right now I was with my amazing aunty and in that delicious, sweet shop that she works in. Mmmmm… Sweets! I begin to daydream but then realise where I am and whinge. I’m quite exhausted
I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was the sunlight sneaking through the curtains of my bedroom window. I rubbed my eyes and attempted to rub the sleep from them. I could not see all too well still since I had not put my glasses on yet. I reached over to the nightstand beside my bed and blindly waved my hand around until it met the cold metal frame of my glasses. I slipped them on to my face and watched as the world became visible within seconds. I wiggled and stretched my toes and rolled my wrists. I had a pain in my left wrist; I assume I slept on it funny. The next thing I grabbed from my nightstand was my cell-phone; I debated checking it for a minute because I couldn’t decide if I wanted to be upset this early in the morning. “You know, I bet those girls from your school probably commented something on your pictures again.” Dez was sitting cross-legged at the end of my bed, looking at her nails. “Not right now, Dez. Just give me another five minutes before you start on me today.” I was groaning because I could already feel the negative energy from her seep into the blankets by her body and into my toes. I felt the cold, dark vibrations run up my legs and into my stomach. “Oh come on, Amelia! Check your
The darkness is coming in closer now. The king’s throne has fallen. The citizens cry as the walls crumble. The enemy laughs as they swing their swords. Fire blazes across the grounds as bodies fall. Children scream as their parents bleed. The warriors rally. They fail as the arrows whiz by them. They each fall one by one. The royal family flees, but get killed on the way out. Death is everywhere. The earthquake begins and I fall to the ground, arrows flying by. My eyes shut and the pain begins...
I saw the blur of a house against the crystal clear, blue sky and the dark evergreen trees, which was followed by an unusual numbness and a bright red puddle that stood out against the dark pavement. I heard shouting and pounding footsteps but I had no idea what happened. I sat on the hot pavement for what seemed like hours, watching blood flow down the hill and into the rain gutter before I was met by a familiar face. Where did her cigarette go? Why was she out of breath? I could see her lips moving but I could not hear the words. I could feel more pounding on the pavement as it got closer and closer, accompanied by extraordinarily loud shouting that snapped me out of this trance. I looked at my knees and stared in awe, seeing the layers of skin that had just been torn. Did I win the race? I looked up at her face as the color drained from her cheeks.
