Around 90 percent of people on school grounds have a phone. That’s one of the biggest distractions in school today. Kids have been on phones so much they get them taken away during school. They have been on phones so long kids can not have a normal conversation. Also kids have been distracted by all these notifications and text messages they receive. Kids need to shut them off during school but they don't. Kids do not need cellphones in school because kids get distracted easily, school is a learning zone not a cellphone zone, and kids need to socialize in school not be on phones.
To begin with, kids do not need phones in school because they are easily distracted by their cell phones. Kids get in trouble for checking phones in class when they get a single notification. Kids that do have phones in school there parents do not want them out or using them during school hours. 71 percent of students receive text messages during class time. Class time is for students to learn, not to be messing around. If schools change the policy of having no phones are likely to have test scores improve. The last reason for kids not to use cellphones in school is kids need to socialize in school. Kids text and chat so much they can not have a normal one on one conversation. 89 percent of Americans say their last conversation had lost interest after they pulled their phone out. A big reason we can not talk to one another is because 72% of teens text often, regularly one in three send more than 100 texts a day.
