Whether you are a pet owner or you just love animals, seeing a stray on the side of the road likely breaks your heart a little. While your initial reaction might be to pull over right away and help the animal, there are several factors you need to take into consideration.
The Location
Whether you are traveling down a rural road, along a busy freeway, or just taking a trip through town when you see a stray cat or dog, you will have to pull over to help the animal. Look in your rear-view mirror. Make sure you can pull over safely. If you can pull over without causing a wreck, turn on your turn signal and pull off to the side of the road. On busy roads or in areas where there is not a safe location to pull off, you may either have to circle around or pull off further down the road and walk back to the stray animal.
When you pull off to help the stray animal, make sure you are completely off the road. You do not want your vehicle hit while you are trying to help the animal. Once you have parked, put on your hazard lights. If you have them, use emergency flares. If you have a passenger, you may want to have a passenger watch for traffic.
Sometimes, there is not a safe way to pull off the road. If this is the case, note the location of the animal. If the animal is traveling, note the direction the animal is going. Call animal control or the police to report where you saw the animal. The sooner you make this call, the easier it will be for officials to find and help the animal.
An easy way to deal with this sort of driving is to use defensive driving tactics and thinking about others or for authorities to make more strict rules when it comes to being inconsiderate on public roadways.
If you are stuck on the road for any reason, you are entitled to the following options:
You are impacting others lives while on the road.We also need more police officers to be present.

Did you know that about ninety percent or more pet owners consider their pets their children (National geographic). Business are taking notice of this positive trend and catering to the expansion of the growing number of people that are now considering animal as children. To have a safe and enjoyable road trip, an individual needs to pay attention to animals who may cross the road, have bright lights on for safety in heavily populated deer country, and get attention if injured, so that more injuries do not occur. Keeping people safe from car casualties or injuries due to deer overpopulation is important. According to an article on deer collisions, “Cars and deer can be a lethal combination” (“Car and Deer”). This is evidence that deer crossing the road and hitting cars could be dangerous. Also the article states, “Deer migration and mating season generally runs from October through December, and causes a dramatic increase in the movement of the deer population” (“Car and Deer”).
We shut the engine off and do not speak again, for any human noise made will be heard by deer within a quarter mile.
gotten help from officers or anyone driving by. Sometimes, being alone isn’t always the answer.
I would scan the area and continue driving when I see that it is safe to go.
If having more pets in your home is nut not going to happen, you can still get involved in rescue by providing transportation between homes. Many large rescue organizations place pets in homes all across the country, which require one or several drivers to transport the
Such a tragedy it is for a family house pet, like a dog or kitten, to ride in the back seat of their owner’s car; either in a crate or on a leash; hoping to reach a destination for a day of play with their owner, only to find themselves in a place unknown. With that the owner, either stationed in the driver’s seat, standing side by side with their pet, or settling down the crate where the pet is occupied on the ground, lets the animal roam freely with a ball or “go” signal. The pet obeys the command and runs off as they wait for their owner, whom has shut the car

All seasoned drivers are used to the process - sometimes, you have to hope someone is around to give your car a jump. But what if no one is around to help, or if you've found yourself in need of a jump in a desolate area? If you have added roadside assistance to your auto insurance policy this will not be a concern. Elephant customers who have roadside assistance simply contact a representative who will dispatch someone directly to them, and have their vehicle up and running in no time.
As people have said “a dog is a man's best friend”. I’m a boy so does that mean that I don’t have a best friend? With a dog I don’t have to be alone every day when I get home from school, I can take good care of it which can teach me responsibility, and it can reduce my stress over homework. So a dog will be a really good thing to have around the house. It’s time for my landlord to allow me to have a dog.
I believe servicemen and women should be allowed to keep the dogs they trained. I see a few reasons why they shouldn’t. But both the dog and the trainer might have saved a few hundred lives and formed a bond with each other. To break this special bond would be unwise. These are some of the reasons they should keep the dogs.
