Have you ever asked your parents for something you really wanted? Well, I believe I should be awarded an later bedtime than the one I am presented with now. I try my hardest in school, and I get good grades. With a late bedtime, I would be able to complete unfinished work or do assignments I want or need to do. In addition, I would manage to learn more responsibilities and learn better time management. As long as completing things I need to do, I would be able to spend more time with my family.

In order to function at optimum capacity, you need to get enough sleep. A decent uninterrupted sleep is most beneficial for the body. You must have heard about the connection between a good night’s sleep and a healthy productive day, tons of times. Understandably so, because these two things are related to each other like two sides of the same coin, you cannot have one without the other. So the big picture question is simple, how to achieve the perfect sleep every night, so that you wake up every morning, fresh, fit, and raring to go to do everything that you are supposed to do? The answer, is simple, and it is that you need to follow a few important rules to constantly sleep like a baby every night and have a fantastic morning, resulting in an amazing day. So without further ado, let’s take a look at those tips.
Sometimes, it is hard to get sleep, but with a few of these pointers, you can fall asleep like a dream. First, you have to avoid sleeping in, and keep a good sleeping schedule. This will improve your ability to sleep when it is time for bed. Another tip, is to stay off of electronics 30 minutes to an hour. Doing this will enable your brain to tell you that it is time to sleep. Along with keeping a good sleeping schedule, having exercise or experiencing the sun in the morning will burn the carbs in your body so that you could sleep better at night. When it is time for bed, be sure that the room is completely dark, and keep your pets off of your bed. It may not seem like a big deal, but when they rustle around, it will keep you from waking up
The number of hours of sleep each person needs depends on many factors, including age. Infants need nearly 16 hours a day, while teenagers require about 8-9 hours on average. For most adults, 7 to 8 hours a night appears to be the best amount of sleep. Women in the first three months of pregnancy often need several more hours of sleep than usual. The quantity of rest a person needs also improves if he or she has been deprived of sleep in previous days. Getting too little sleep creates a "sleep debt," which is much like being overdrawn at a bank. Many studies make it clear that sleep deprivation is dangerous. Sleep-deprived people who are tested by using a driving simulator or by performing a hand-eye coordination task perform as badly as or worse than those who are intoxicated. Sleep deprivation also magnifies alcohol's effects on the body, so a fatigued person who drinks will become much more impaired than someone who is well-rested.
The behavior change I decided to focus on is: getting more sleep every day. For this, the article I chose is: Why Is Sleep Important. Sleeping plays a key role in maintaining a healthy life as it affects our mental activities, as well as physical health. When we sleep, the same as when we are awake, we tend to process information outside our conscious awareness. Whenever we are asleep, we may think our brains turns off but it is always still active because of the biological rhythm that is has. Having enough sleep helps us humans, and living things in general, ameliorate our immune system and gives our neurons time to repair themselves. Another benefit of sleeping enough is the fact that it helps rebuild the memories that may have faded, it reactivates them. Sleeping boosts your creativity. In fact, people who sleep on a task after having worked on it, tend to solve difficult problems more effectively. It also supports growth by releasing a hormone that is necessary for muscle development.
Sleeping is extremely important for all mammals, but humans especially. Without sleep we are unable to function properly and at our fullest abilities. When we sleep we grow, and it is an opportunity for us to dream which has many benefits. Sleep is also a way for us to relieve ourselves of stress.
Importance of Sleep It has been proposed, by some, that humans do not really need to sleep, and that we do so only out of habit. However, much research would suggest otherwise. It is true that some individuals (e.g. those suffering from insomnia) are able to live on very small amounts of sleep, but nevertheless, they do need some. Studies of sleep deprivation have found that there may be severe consequences of not sleeping at. Randy Gardner, for example, went without sleep for 11 nights.
