4. It determines the learners motivation since success leads to success and high spirits. Due to this special status given to achievement, researchers in education have been tempted to investigate factors affecting it. Therefore the researcher believes that shedding light on some of these factors may help in finding a solution to this problem and in upgrading the level of students achievement. Ebel (1972) claims that the variables most directly related to students achievement are Socio-economic status of the family and the socio-economic background of the other students in the particular school whereas Bloom (1976) believes that achievement is affected by interest, attitudes, self concepts and mental health. Being convinced in the influence of such variables on achievement, the present researcher has chosen four variables to be the core of his research study. In fact, he will investigate the contribution of these independent variables to the defendant variables, which is students achievement in English. The variable the researcher had chosen is the students study habits. For example, students may have scored in exam because they concern about their own education. Reliability of this study instrument has not been tested. This is the first time this group will have this survey. There is no former survey to use as a standard to see if there are many changes.

Educational research contributes many factors to effective teaching and the effective teacher. Beliefs and values that guide the research change by the decade, however, most of the research agrees that the highest impact on achievement is the teacher. The writer feels that the three factors Marzano pinpoints are ones truly necessary to guide effective teachers. He states “the act of teaching is a holistic endeavor. Effective teachers employ effective instructional strategies, classroom management techniques, and classroom curricular design in a fluent, seamless fashion”. (Marzano, p.77) By combining these three key components, the teacher will do what is necessary to foster student achievement.
In any school, student learning is the ultimate goal and the focus of an effective learning community. In today’s society, the education system is called upon to teach all students at high levels. It has been established through significant research that teachers have a high impact on student learning, according to the RAND Corporation, “research suggests that, among school-related factors, teachers matter most. When it comes to student performance on reading and math tests, a teacher is estimated to have two to three times the impact of any other school factor, including services, facilities, and even leadership.”
Statistical data can be effectively used to make informative decisions about school improvement and student learning. Below you will find statistical tests identified as it relates to particular hypothesis questions concerning the criteria of independent and dependent variables. As many students in college know, high school is not a place where you really have to study. When I got to college things changed drastically. I had fallen behind because I did not understand how to study and never really had to. High schools could do a much better job at preparing students study habits for college. First, by giving us time in class to study. Next, by giving quizzes randomly on what we were supposed to be studying in class. And last, teachers giving us a spreadsheet on what and when to study each week.

According to Palm Beach Community College (PBBC, 2008), they recommend that student’s study should have at least three hours out of class for every hour spent in class. They also said that a student must have a special place to study with plenty of room to work. And students should not be cramped. They presupposes that study time will go better if a learner take a few minutes at the start to straighten things up. A desk and straight-backed chair is usually best. “ Don't get too comfortable--a bed is a place to sleep, not to study” as what they said. A student must have everything close at hand (book, pencils, paper, coffee, dictionary, computer, calculator, tape recorder, etc.)
