2000 word essay: Why the army wants things dress right dress. To start the essay off id like to go over the "reason" that i am writing the essay to ensure you (the reader) that i know why i am writing it. When i raised my right hand on September 14th 2012 i was swearing into the U.S Army, which was pretty much me saying that i will obey by everything they want and need me to do. I went to basic training where i was taught many things, one of which was "Dress Right Dress" which pretty much means everything is the same. I learned that the army wants everything this way so that it doesn't look like a "Gaggle Fuck" as our sergeants like to put it. This is to ensure that when we don't have individuals here because as …show more content…
As i mentioned before its a chain effect. An example of that could be...What if a soldier didn't want to get up one day on time like everyone else for a certain training event and so when everyone else was getting the training they needed to be successful he was still asleep, then as they're all returning from the training he wakes up and just blows it off like "So what i don't need to know that crap" and he still somehow graduates and ends up getting stationed over seas on deployment, now its been a while since the incident has happened and he still hasn't learned that skill and doesn't even care. One day he is on patrol when they are ambushed, now he's gone through basic training and remembers what to do, but his battle buddy right next to him gets shot in the chest, now being the medic in his squad he runs over to help his battle only to find his buddy has an open chest wound, bradypnea, gurgling, and doesn't remember what do. Now in the back of his mind he is starting to remember that the training he missed that day he wanted to be an individual and not go to training like everyone else was how to deal which sucking chest wounds and suctioning out fluid from the airway. You might be thinking that the scenario above
The debate over school uniforms and dress codes has been going on for years and is still widely debated and talked about in the education system. Each side of the argument has many supporters. There are many pros and cons to each side so it is hard to really know what the right choice is. In Three Cups of Tea written by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin education is the main focus of the book. Although most of the book takes place half way across the world many topics are relevant to the school systems today in America. In the book the girls received, “crisp new school uniforms neatly folded inside its cellophane wrapper” and they are completely overjoyed to hold their first
Is it right that Donald Trump bans Transgenders that have the capability to fight and train like everyone else? Serving for the military is a great opportunity that has been taken away from Transgenders, that deserve that opportunity, and here’s three reasons that Transgenders should be able to serve. Three reasons why Transgenders should stay in the military are they shouldn’t be kicked out and deployed out of the military despise their gender. The military will lose approximately 15,000 active troops that were doing an amazing job at serving our country. Finally, because the Donald Trump claims that the medical cost is too much, but training and getting troops up to readiness standards will cost more money.
Twenty-six years ago I a 17-year-old boy joined the United States Army. I served my country faithfully for 22 years, two months and four days; I served in the Transportation Corps. My time in the army was a special period in my life. I gain a lot of life experiences as well as professional ones; the military shaped and molded me into the husband, father son, and brother that I am today. During my service, I grew up and learned several life lessons that would serve me well in and out of the army. To get a real understand on how the military shaped me into the person, I am today; I must first give you some insight into the person I was before I left for basic training. I graduated high school in 1991 just four months’ shy of my 18th birthday;
Uniform specifications, by which each member must abide, emphasize regularity cohesion group cooperation and solidarity. The many different branches have many different regulations for different uniforms . Uniform specifications are designed to maintain the uniform's functionality in the line of duty. Uniforms that fail to conform to the set standards could interfere with a service member's ability to perform his duty. For example, a cold-weather uniform that's not actually adapted to the cold according to official specifications could pose a risk to that soldier's well-being in the field.These standards have been proven over time and ensure the safety of the soldier . The person wearing the uniform should look neat and concise not drawing attention to themselves. Soldiers should look like a unit or group with everyone blending in not standing out because they look different. In the army it's important to be part of a team and like teams that play basketball, football,
There are many reasons in that in this world we have rules, regulations, laws, traffic signs, and other means of directions that individuals must follow for various reasons. Without the utmost care to follow these rules, things that could easily be prevented may happen, resulting in very negative things. This however, is even more important when in the Army, as the consequences can be very severe. The Army has a plethora of rules and regulations that all soldiers, regardless of rank or duty station must follow. These rules and regulations are put forth to us for various reasons. These reasons can range from having a professional appearance to keeping yourself alive. The most common rules and regulations are about common courtesy and appearance. These are important to all soldiers, as this is what the citizens of not only the United States of the America judge us from, but also most of the world judges our nation based soley on the individuals of the Army. Since we as a group are split all across the world, many people see us each and everyday. Some countries only see Americans through the soldiers they see everyday. We represent the pride and honor of the American nation, and without following the rules and regulations that govern these common courtisies and appearance we do nothing but fail at our duty, and let down the American people. A small, but notable reason to follow the regulations of the army is the
In this essay I will describe the many requirements and expectations set forth in the army's AR670-1. I will describe the importance of obedience to it and cite many of it's detailed descriptions. I am writing this essay because I failed to meet the standards asked of me me by both these regulations, and my leadership. I accept the responsibility of my actions and will not let my failure recur, nor will I let my fellow soldiers repeat my mistake. Since my failure was in regards to grooming or personal additions to uniform, I thought it would be pertinent to cover these subjects most thoroughly, If any additional information is required of me I will add on to this.
The wear and appearance of soldiers in the United States Army are while in uniform should be neat. There should be no excess “things” in a person’s pocket but it should lie down flat. The person wearing the uniform should look neat and concise not drawing attention to themselves. Soldiers should look like a unit or group with everyone blending in not standing out because they look different. In the army it’s important to be part of a team. This is important in the armed forces especially because of what they do. In the army, marines, navy, and air force soldiers are called upon to fight in the battle field. If soldiers cannot show unity by doing a simple basic thing of wearing the same uniform alike how anyone could expect them to fight and win a nation’s battle. This is why the army has proved a guideline of regulations for soldiers in the United States Army to wear and abide by. This regulation is army regulation six hundred dash one which covers the dress and appearance of army uniforms in any given situation.
As the Army transitions from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan, the organization is well served to take a long look in the mirror. After ten plus years of deployments, our combat tested warriors are sure to possess more than enough valuable knowledge to reinforce and improve upon our status as a profession. A TRADOC published paper explains “to be a professional is to understand, embrace, and competently practice the expertise of the profession.” I believe the profession of arms exists and there are many components that reinforce this argument. Among these components, initial entry training and institutional learning, shared values, and a monopoly on our mission are three of the most important tenants. All Soldiers must graduate
Why is it important to follow orders and instructions? From a military standpoint the difference can mean life or death for a soldier. On the civilian side it can mean the loss of your job, loss of position, or loss of pay. There are many factors that play into each individual scenario. No two events are ever the same and the outcome can range from a verbal reprimand to the death of the individual.
Being a professional soldier goes a long way. It means a person take pride in everything they do throughout life. It takes a lot of energy and time to earn this title so upholding its standard is a must. A soldier abides by all his and her codes and creeds. Also, the soldier must follow the army set values. There are seven values and all have a significant importance to our nation; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless-service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. These seven values are all a soldier needs to be professional in the army. Following each of them and executing them will build your character and define you as a soldier and a person.
In the US army we are taught to live by the 7 army values. They are broken down to us in the acronym ‘LDRSHIP’. Loyalty “Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, and other soldiers.” Duty “Fulfill your obligations.” Respect “Treat people as they should be treated.” Selfless Service “Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates above your own.” Honor “Live up to the army values.”
Every day, there are American citizens who risk their lives for the sake of their country's safety. Men and women who believe that justice, peace, and equality should be served. However, within their beliefs, some choose to exclude transgender individuals who have the same rights and freedoms. The American society considers the world to be progressively changing and growing, however, seem to forget that in order for the military to survive the 21st century, diversity is crucial. Although the medical costs may raise the overall healthcare median per year, transgender individuals should have the right to serve in the U.S. armed forces because any human being who meets the physical qualifications and has a willing attitude should have the right to serve.
As far as the grading of the APFT goes, although FM 21-20 specifies the correct way to do a push-up or sit-up, the actual scoring for these events are wildly inconsistent from grader to grader. Sometimes these inconsistencies hurt a Soldiers score, but often these inconsistencies give an unfair advantage to a Soldier over his or her peers. The inconsistencies in grading the APFT and measuring a Soldier’s body fat are magnified by those leaders who don’t even bother and just “pencil whip” the results of both.
According to FORSCOM G8, "Army leaders honor everyone’s individual worth by treating all people with dignity and respect. The leader who feels and gives the respect which is due to others cannot fail to inspire in them regard for himself. While he who feels, and hence manifests, disrespect toward others, especially his subordinates, cannot fail to inspire hatred against himself. Respect for the individual forms the basis for the rule of law, the very essence of what makes America. In the Army, respect means recognizing and appreciating the inherent dignity and worth of all people. This value reminds you that your people are your greatest resource."
In this essay, I will be writing about the importance of salutes, standing at the correct position when talking to someone higher ranking than yourself, using proper language when talking to someone of a higher rank, where you should walk when walking with someone of a higher rank, as well as other customs and courtesies you find throughout the army and all other branches.
