Approach

To draw the shear force or bending moment diagram, one should first determine the reaction at the supports. These reaction can be determined using static and dynamic equilibrium condition. 

After determining the reaction, use sign convention to draw the diagram. The shear force at any section is algebraic sum of all the forces either left hand side or right hand side, same is applicable for bending moment. It is algebraic sum of all the moments due to reaction, load and concentrated moment either on left hand side or on the right hand side.
