Question
7.3x105 CFU/ml= Broth culture, how many bacteria would be contained
Expert Solution
Step 1
The number of viable bacterial cells in liquid culture is estimated by means of a colony-forming unit (CFU). The viable cells possess the ability to multiply and undergo binary fission to produce visible colonies. The non-viable cells cannot divide and form colonies therefore they are eliminated from the CFU count.
