These are the efferent nerve fibers aggregations from upper motor neurons and travels from the cerebral cortex and terminates in the spinal cord or brainstem. The impulse from the brain to cranial nerves are conducted by the corticonuclear tract. The impulse from the brain to the spinal cord is conducted by the corticospinal tract.
