Base on the template strand of DNA: GAT CTC ATA GHC what is the sequence of mRNA that will be Transcribed from this DNA MOLECULE

Expert Answer

Step 1

Transcription is part of the Central dogma. In transcription, messenger RNA (mRNA) is transcribed from the DNA template in the 5' to 3' direction by RNA polymerases and other enzymes. mRNA transcription occurs inside the nucleus and the mRNA is then transported to the cytoplasm through the nuclear pore.

Step 2

Watson and Crick proposed the standard base pairing. In the DNA, Adenine (A) pairs with Thymine (T) and Guanine (G) pairs with Cytosine (C). On the other hand during mRNA transcription, Adenine (A) pairs with Uracil (U) and Guanine (G) pairs with Cytosine (C). Thus, when the mRNA is being transcribed, Uracil (U) nucleotide is added if the DNA template has Adenine (A) nucleotide nucleotide.

Step 3

Unusual nucleotides are added in the DNA strand due to mutation causing DNA damage and thereby alter the sequence of DNA. Hypoxanthine (H) is deaminated adenine. These u...
