Question

Briefly define the following terms: evaporation, condensation, sublimation.

Expert Solution
Step 1

Evaporation;-the process by which a liquid or compound is released from its liquid state to a temperature below that in the gaseous state at which it boils;  In particular, the process by which liquid water enters theatmosphere as air vapor.  Evaporation, mostly from the sea and from vegetation, replenishes air humidity.It is an important part of the exchange of energy in the Earth  atmosphere system that produces atmospheric motion and hence weather and climate.  The rate of evaporation depends on the temperature difference between the evaporation surface and the air, relative humidity, and air.  See also evaporation.

Step 2

Condensation;- this is a change in the state of water from a gas or vapor form into liquid form. It generally happens when vapor in warm air encounters a cool surface. But condensation doesn't need a solid surface to take place, as it can occur when a warm pocket of water vapor encounters colder gasses.

example -1. fog in the air.2. Morning dew on the glass3. Fogg on the mirror4.Moisture Beads on Car Windows.
