The liquid molecules tend to convert into the vapor phase. In a closed container, the pressure of vapor at the liquid surface at equilibrium is known as vapor pressure. The vapor pressure depends on the intramolecular attraction forces between the liquid molecules. As the strength of intramolecular attraction forces increases, the vapor pressure decreases.
