Information on the age of n = 50 people who recently received speeding tickets was sourced by a group of researchers interested in if the age distribution of individuals who get speeding tickets differs from the age distribution of licensed drivers. In the sample, 17 people were 25 or younger and 33 were older than 25.

 

3. A course instructor wanted to know if there was a relationship between being a psychology major and comfort level in statistics. She surveyed her class and recorded students’ program of study (psychology, not psychology) and their self-reported level of comfort with statistics (comfortable, not comfortable).
