Question

In a conjugation experiment, what is meant by the time of entry?

Expert Solution
Step 1

Conjugation is nothing more than the fusion of two compatible bacterial cells. Bringing together and enabling them to conjugate two genotypes is the equivalent of creating a cross in the eukaryotes. Conjugation and translation of genes into E. Coli are guided by a circular DNA plasmid called the fertility or sex factor ( F) found in some but not all of the cells.
