Expert Solution
Step 1

Immunity is the capability of the body to fight against foreign attack and maintain the persistence shortly towards the same foreign body.

They are of two types:

Passive immunity is generated when antibodies are given externally rather than being generated. For example, a newborn baby comes with passive immunity as he has received antibodies through his mother.

Active immunity is the production of antibodies in response to the antigen within the individual. For example, immunity induced by vaccination or induced by consuming certain boosters like Vitamin ‘C’. The antibodies produced in response to infection are differentiated in bone marrow by B cells into plasma cells and memory cells. Where plasma cells further modify into antigen-specific antibodies and memory cells acts as the memory to the antigen for which the antibody is produced so that if the body comes in contact with the same antigen the body easily recognizes the threat and acts against it.
