Expert Solution
Step 1

Given: The statistical hypothesis that will be formed are:

H0: The performance of managers (with or without MBA) are same.

H1: The performance of managers (with or without MBA) are significantly different.

Let n1 be the number of weights in without MBA group; that is; n1=9.

Let n2 be the number of weights in with MBA group; that is; n2=9.

In this case two independent populations and the assumption of normality of both the populations is not given so we  should use Mann Whitney U test.

To perform the Mann Whitney test, we combine the observations of two independent samples (without MBA and with MBA) and arrange the data in ascending order. After that we rank all these combined observations from smallest to largest.

Step 2
Without MBA Ranks WIth MBA Ranks
1.550 3 1.500 1
1.679 4 1.541 2
1.759 7 1.875 9
1.900 12.5 1.710 5
1.890 10.5 1.750 6
1.990 15 1.770 8
1.995 16 1.890 10.5
2.000 17 1.980 14
2.125 18 1.900 12.5
Total S=103
