The purpose of this study is to determine the risk of falling for individuals with knee pain. Specifically, the knee pains osteoarthritis, chondromalacia patella, and patellar tendonitis will be evaluated in this research study. This study will utilize a correlational design to answer the research question: does the location of knee pain affect the risk of falling? The Single Leg Stance (SLS) and the Timed Up & Go test (TUG) will be utilized to evaluate the risk of falls and balance of individuals

Tuesday was very busy, we had 5 consults that day. 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. I got to complete 4 out of the 5 consults on my own. I am beginning to be very comfortable completing consults now that I have been doing them for a few weeks. Prior to each consult, I research what I can about the patient before I meet with them. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Empathy plays an important role in nursing. Knowing how to use empathy helps and allows the patient to feel less alone and understood. With empathy comes equality for us nurses, who bond with our patients and help them to get better (Stein-Parbury, 2005).
